im sure we're all anxious.. and i'm sorry for another stupid post, im sure there will be hundreds BUT:

is it safe for a 1st gen phone owner to upgrade to 2.0?
can it be unlocked?
can it be activated?
are there available software/methods/solutions?

probably not, but hey, worth a shot.

we all are but they have to be sure that the software works with the firmware released today and I'm sure they'll try to crack the 3g phone too so as not to have to release 2 versions off the app.

Also bare in mind that pwnage is a Mac app and will prob be released 1st (like last time) and winpwn will come later on. So unless you have a Mac......

i actually was going to buy a mac yesterday, but that didnt go so well with the autherization, so i'll be getting a mac next week !!!

I'm waiting too. I almost considered just biting the bullet and going to ATT, but the pricing, length of contract and the fact that 3G near me is spotty at best made it an easy choice to stay with Magenta

Well, appstore is cool, but I still think there's better apps in installer. I was working on a couple apps, but I don't think Apple would approve 'em so no use for me there either. So I'm pretty content here with 1.1.4 and Swirly MMS

yeah, apparently 2.0 got pulled off the itunes app anyways.. and on top of that, i heard that people need to do constant refreshes to activate lol, horrible..
but i guess its a good thing.

xander (or anyone), know if i need fw 2.0 for mobileme?

I updated my software to 2.0 at bout 8:30 pm last night and everything went smooth. I thought I'd have to wait for day's with all the problems they had.
