I know nothing about iphone or its software...any other phone I could fix her up. Anyone want to help? This is what she says is going on:

i know, i know. everyone is telling me to go to that page for iphone support. the problem is when you click on iphone in itunes there is no summary tab. there is nothing but the word iphone in the middle of a page. there is no restore button. everything is gone. i know everything is backed up in itunes somewhere but it's not coming up on the itunes page. and in the meantime my phone is just a piece of plastic.

i have the same issue.
Supposedly it is Apple's fault....
I am on hold with Apple for last 42 minutes...
Will see

Sounds like she downloaded and installed 2.0 successfully, and is stuck on the re-activation screen. This is also where millions of other people (myself included) are also stuck. For some reason Apple is making everyone re-activate the phone through iTunes for 2.0, and so many people are trying to activate at the same time that iTunes can't keep up. She's gonna just have to wait like everyone else

Also, there's no reason to call Apple support guys. What are they gonna do? Sitting on the phone isn't going to help iTunes keep up with the demand. It sucks being 'bricked' in the meantime, but there is literally nothing any tech support can do to help it.

Go outside for a while - get some fresh air - go see a movie - then try again later

"my friend killed her friend installing 2.0...someone help?"

WHAT???? CALL 911!!!!!!

I would also change your title to my friend killed her PHONE installing 2.0 and not my friend killed her FRIEND installing 2.0... unless she killed her friend, and in that case, she has bigger problems

It's happening to old and new iphone activations according to headlines.
