2g not working with 2.0

I know someone who has an unlocked 2g model using it on Rogers network. They updated to 2.0 and it is not accepting their sim (rogers sim 4000 series). Any idea why it wouldn't work???

Um. The phone was unlocked to be used on Rogers. The 2.0 up date relocked the phone to AT&T. Hence not being able to us on Rogers now.

The IMEI of the iPhone is always going to be locked to AT&T. Your friend will either have to take the seemingly painful route of downgrading back 10 1.1.4 or wait for the unlock/jailbreak like the rest of the world.
