Is anyone having trouble accessing voicemail? I tap the voicemail icon and
nothing happens. Tried restarting, no luck. Exchange mail, calls, etc. seem to work ok.

Thanks.

not to hijack the thread, but does visual voicemail use voice minutes?

Unreal. Hope the phone tech gives you a solution.

Thanks - Marc

The way I understand it, it records the VM to the iPhone. You are not dialing out to play/retrieve them.

I was fighting with it as well, but I turned off the phone, called it, left message, actually twice. Then after a few minutes turned it back on and there was the prompt for my pin.

I try to leave a voicemail for myself and get a message stating "voicemail has not been setup for this number" (or something similar). I am hoping it is just the overloaded system.

Figured it out.

- Called my iPhone number (from land line)
- When the greeting started that said "sorry, this user has not setup voicemail ...." started, I hit the * key and followed the promts to setup voicemail.

Seems to work correctly now.

UPDATE: I fixed it. Here's what I did:

1) Dialed my cell phone number from my cell phone. I immediately connected to voicemail.
2) Followed prompts to change password(I believe it was option 4, then option 1, option 1), just listen to the prompts and you will be ok.
3) Once my password was changed, I disconnected the call and then went into the Phone app and hit Voicemail. This time, instead of doing nothing, the voicemail screen popped up and said it had the wrong password and asked for the new password.
4) I entered the new password and voila, all my voicemails showed up and everything was back to normal.

I get the prompt "I'm sorry but the person you called does not have voicemail setup, goodbye"

I never get the option to do anything. Also hitting * or # does nothing, I just get hung up on.

EDIT... Nevermind, the 5th time I tried it I hit * real fast at the instant the message came then it let me configure my mailbox.

my mailbox is configured and i can get to the visual voicemail screen.

however, when someone calls, they get the message "we need more information about the mailbox you are trying to reach"

what gives?

Believe it or not, it is possible at&t never added voice mail to your NEW account settings. I.E. whether you upgraded, added new service, added a line, etc. they may have made mistakes with your account settings. How do I know this? Because when I went back to at&t today to see what the problem was, they looked at my account and they had not added a data plan and voice mail. Genius.

I used to get the same "we need more information..." message. Now everything is all good.

I hope this helps.

thanks.

I talked to the rep and visual voicemail is on my account. Also, my visual voicemail screen is synced with the correct password now.

I STILL get that stupid "we need more information" thing.
