How do I know if my iphone is JB?

I was sold an iPhone with v. 1.1.4. I've been reading that the new 2.0 update might brick your iphone if it is jailbroken. How do I know my iPhone was not JB by the previous owner? Any help is appreciated!

by brick it means RELOCK u back to atat lol, not brick as in not working anymore

Actually I think you are wrong because most everyone that has mentioned their phone being "bricked" as basically rendering the phone useless.

So anyways...does anyone know how to check?
