Hi guys,

Is iPhone 3G's 3G frequency compatible with other 3G networks around the world like in Europe and Asia?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, and a little no. The iPhone 3G supports 2100, 1900 and 800 (850) bands. 2100 is used in Europe and Asia while 1900 and 800 are used in North America. The "little no" part is with T-Mobile in the US. They use 2100 and 1700, so the iPhone 3G won't work on their 3G network. This is assume you've unlocked the iPhone 3G for use on their network.

Although unless you unlock it, you'll be stuck paying AT&T roaming charges for data which is about $10 per MB I believe.

Thanks for the replies guys!

The reason I brought up this topic is because someday I might be traveling to Taiwan and I wanted to know in advance if the "3G internet" will work with their providers 3G data packages.

Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on the iPhone 3G and unlock it.....
