Activate iPhone - connect to iTunes ??

Hi,
I have an iphone with firmware 1.02 (downgraded from 1.1.1 after accidently updating to 1.1.2). I was having some memory issues with the phone and hence last night did the firmware restore to 1.0.2. Normally this works fine i.e. followed by AppTappinstaller/wininstaller/apptappinstaller, but this time instead of being activated, I get the message "Activate iPhone - connect to iTunes". I'm thinking this has something to do with the iTunes update?
Can someone please comment whether they've seen this before and how I can reactivate my phone? Thanks.
