iPhone 3g availability in Orlando?

Does anyone have info on the easiest place to get one in the Orlando area? Both stores show out of stock (yes I know....that isn't accurate) but they are the closest to me and still an hour away. Millenia says they already have an hour wait today and aren't sure they are even getting any in.

Millenia and Florida seem to be alternating days on getting phones in. Millenia had them this morning, apparently they had 16 gig white. Florida didn't have anything today. I'm going to try next week to pick one up.

Hey guys, I'm in Florida and just returned mine this morning.... If you have a 2G, my friendly advise would be to keep it until Apple releases a better iphone than the 2G. This 3G is certainly not the one. I really mean it.....

Well it depends on what store are you talking about, remember that AT&T and Apple has both stores in both malls, i know for a fact that the at&t in millenia had some yesterday my friend works there, also why not try to come up little more to like Altamonte Springs? close to the mall, there is an AT&T premier store and they had some this morning cus i called just for the hassle of it and they had some, here is the number for AS (407)830-7622 ask for Daniel or william they are both nice guys, and are always willing to help, they helped me with my DF, they get some everyday now around 5 am, but you might want to try that store, also i know is not listed on Apple's site but on the other side of the I-4 like 3 or 4 blocks from that AT&T store in Altamonte, Apple has another store, you might want to call them to their 1800 apple # for more info or AT&T, there is also another 2 stores for AT&T premier in Alafaya and Colonial close to Walmart, you might wanna check them both out

lets us all know how this works for ya.

Not a bad idea at all, i know there are many of us from Orlando, well in my case Winter Park, which is the same thing pretty much, so did you get any info? i havent called Altamonte today but i might tomorrow to see if they have any news of my DF since nothing wont show up on their site.

Im from orlando also, winter park area too. I went to florida mall today around 5pm and waited in line, i was about 18th in line, they had about 30 phones, all 16g black. Took forever, like 2 hrs, it was PACKED, lots of brazilian tourist groups there. Finally got one though!

I picked up a 16GB white iphone via DF that I placed on Sunday. My black 16GB iphone is still on backordered.

I asked the CS people there and it seems like that are doing DF orders only cause they keep on saying they have not received any shipments in for walk in orders. I'll call the Altmonte Springs store when they open this morning.

Edit: I just called the Altamonte springs ATT store at 850AM (somehow, an ATT rep picked up the phone even though they were closed) and said they were all out of iphones again.

I was heading there at 5pm as well, to take a look at a Mac Pro. I changed my mind and went home after a long day at work...... What a small world... Not that I would have known who you are.....

I was thinking on buying a Ghost Armor when it comes out, I'm also trying to decide on getting 2 speck toughskins for the 3G depending on which one does more protection, i mentioned before in other posts that every single phone I've had its always broken, or my husband breaks it or my son thinks its a toy therefore he breaks it as well thats why I'm looking on spending some extra $ as long as it will last me if not 1 year more!

Just ordered two best skins ever. Looked around today at best buy and walmart and target for something to cover it with. BB had the invisible shield for the front only. Really wish I could have found something to cover it completely. I'm nervous about having it with no case on it, paranoid to even put it in my pocket

Both of the reps I talked to at both apple stores in orlando said they would be getting shipments between 10 and 1 if they got any. I would suggest waiting til about 11:00 and heading to florida mall.

The availability site showed none, so i took my chances and went this morning around 11.
I walked in and asked if they had any and she said yes, and I was like YESS then she said, "You see that line over there? you have to wait there" lol. I was number 12 and only waited like 30 minutes. Loving it so far!

I thought that was the line for the bracelet kiosk when I walked by and tried to go in and get a phone. Was curious why like 10 or 12 people wanted a bracelet so bad

I didn't have to remove my fan but there again i did my DF at AT&T, if you purchase it at apple you have to remove the FAN first which might take from 1-3 business days and then only after that you can make the purchase but then after that you have to add the FAN back again in to your account, to me personally its too much of a hassle, so thats why i placed my order with AT&T.

I'm tellin ya, FL mall is where its at. When I called Millenia the day I got mine they had a 3 hour wait and were not even sure they had received any in that day. FL mall had some and had 45 min wait. Took me an hour to get there, I waited just over an hour and they had 70 phones (overheard the apple employees talking about it very secretively)

FWIW, I got mine when nearly ALLLLL stores in FL were showing out of stock on the apple site (we all know how accurate THAT thing is.....)

AT&T stores are still filling the DF orders. I've been told as long as 30+ days if you DF one.

Well that just might be true, i placed my order (DF) on the 14th and i was supposed to get it tomorrow and now its back ordered till the 5th of august! not before cus they said they had a huge line of costumers before me on the list so it will be a while!!!!!!!!

Its like if all Orlando goes to the same AT&T store, hahaha!!! but maybe they just want to save them selves the hassle of removing and re-adding the FAN as well.

im more concerned with how long it will take for the fan to be re added to my account every thing i have read says that it will take up to two months for it to be reapplied to your account i don't really want to loose my 25% for that long

It takes a complete billing cycle for you to see it reflected on your bill. It goes on the account right away though

It depends really on what company you work for, because i did not know at all that i could have the Military discount on my account so i went to the store and brought with me my DD-214 cus they needed more proof than the Military ID (which i think is retarded, sorry for the word) and once they had the DD-214 they added it immediately in to the account in a heart beat and later on like after 1 hour that i got home to check my account it was added in to it already and says something like this:

US Marine Corps Employee Fan Number: 12345678 (the numbers are just an example but they are 8 digits)

so like it said it depends too, on where you work im guessing unless i was really lucky and it showed in my account almost immediately, and i have already been billed once and it appears to me that the discount was applied to the full month regardless of that i added it around the 15th of June.

Still i guess i was just very lazy and didnt want to remove the fan cus the stories about taking up to 3 days for it to be removed from your account for the apple purchase did freak me out.

BTW when i did my DFOrder i had complete discounts on all lines on to my account, the voice, the data,, the messaging and also on the 3G purchase, although is just 15% off i gotta admit its better than nothing.

I checked the other site for the availability of the 3G on my state specifically in Orlando and this site shows that one of the malls have some, which is funny cus i was so frustrated that earlier i tried the trick on the apple site and it shows out of stock for all models, haha, ill be going to Millenia tomorrow to get mine and ill be returning the DF one that ill get. i got it all figured out and my friend from ATT @ Millenia is gonna help, im so happy i could jump in one leg.

Well, i had to go to Altamonte this afternoon to remove my FAN, I'm giving up the wait and im not willing to wait any longer, so i decided tomorrow morning im gonna go buy an early upgrade white 16GB 3G at the FL Mall and if they're out well, long drive it will be to go to Millenia but im not coming home tomorrow without an iPhone, its gonna be triple expensive but, oh well, im not willing to wait till December's 32 Gb version. by the way while at the store today i asked about the rumors for the Red 3G version for the Holidays and the guy that took care of my account told me that they had been talking for 2 weeks about it!!!! i cant believe it just now got leaked in to the net, the thing is he didn't say if it was true, but he said some of that info was on their system but they're not allowed to discuss it whatsoever, but yes that there might be a new iPhone model by then, but it hasn't been confirmed if it will be just the color or if it will be the 32Gb.
All i told him was, well i got the money now for it and if i wait till December to get one, i wont have the money then.
Anyways ill let you know what happens tomorrow.

well i got my 16G white and its a beauty, was @millenia since 7:30am an @ 11am i was # 38 in line but left with the phone, had to pay $100 deposit, anyways i need sleep, my son woke me @ 3am and since then i haven't been able to go back to bed. good night.

For me it's not worth waiting at the Apple stores at the Mall of Millenia.

If you really wanted the black than I guess you have to wait at the Mall or order it via DF and wait 10-21 days.

However, for those who want the white, I think it's just easier just to do a DF via ATT and get it in 2 business days. No wait and when it comes in 2 business days later, you just come in and pick it up on your own time.

Plus, for some of us with FAN accounts and who do not want the hassle of taking the FAN off and putting it on, ATT retail stores DF are are only options.
