My wife less than 2 years old SE K880i went dead to blank death screen again. This is the 4th or maybe 5th time in the last 8 months. Phone was working perfectly until it went to blank death screen. She got it fixed the 1st time at the store she bought 2nd time she sent it back to SE for service. After that it happened 3 more times, she tried the online flush and still no good. Everytime she has to pay $40 bucks to get it fixed. It happened from USB to her PC, plugged into car chager all different situation. Does she get a lemon K800i? Any long term fix for it?

I think you should update the EROM.

You need an account at Wotanserver and it updates it for free...try searching for that.

I'm not too sure, but I know it's an EROM problem.

The quick fix though is to re-flash the firmware.

My wife tried to do it once before somehow she couldn't get it work. She sent the phone back to get system flushed. Maybe next time if her phone dead again I will go to Wotanserver.

I think this is the fault of software. When your wife attached the cellphone to the computer its screen is dead. May be its software fault not any hardware.

Yes She can...

You will need to purchase a credits to fix your phone however the update will not use it so you have a credit in case you ever need to update firmware or run EROM update again; the problem from what i’ve read around the forums seems to point to a problem w/K800i and its EROM.

It seems when poweroff the device, you can corrupt the EROM and that in turns causing your phone to not power on or just power on to a white screen. Wotanserver’s client can fix the EROM by updating it before it tries to flash the phone.Read More
