Hi,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&category=20369

I saw this site above on Ebay for an 8390 to look like 8910.

Has anyone tried this?

Is the housing any good?

Can you install anything on the phone so that you can pick and end calls when you slide the phone open/close?

What do you guys think?

Any other Mods or cool Faceplates that you have seen for 8390 phone

I haven't tried it yet, but I have the housing and will try it when I get my 8390 tomorrow (hopefully). (I'll post pics) The housing looks pretty good, doesn't look that cheap and as far as I know, I haven't seen a way to get the phone to answer when the slide goes down.

Day Deal has those faceplates for that phone. They have them in in three different colors.

The ones from Daydeal are a little different than the ones posted above. The ones posted above look almost exactly like a 8910 besides the "8390" above the screen. Daydeal's have bigger buttons that are more rubber looking instead of the chrome look they should have. It's all preference

Thanks

8390 cannot have active slide

Ok, FINALLY got my 8390 in today and first thing I did was slap the 8910 housing on there. This is not the one from Daydeal....they look the most like the actual 8910.

With the slide closed:

And the slide open:

I really didn't like pressing the keys on this as they are WAY too narrow and I was using my fingernail alot especially on the bottom 3 keys. I was going to switch back to my white faceplate, but I don't know how to get the damn thing off! The instructions that came with it are not very good.

If anyone knows how to remove the housing short of prying it off and damaging the housing, phone or both... let me know!
