Maybe a mod can make this sticky?

Posted by: tsolin01

that's been posted before... should be sticky in FAQ section...

Posted by: bilzbub

figures when i go to try to do something with the mms the only phone not listed is the 3300 .. wtf is it with the 3300? a sikass phone potentially with no intelligent planning and very little support. total crap. i love my phone. to make matter worse im on prepaid so i cant get ring tones or internet or anything so i would have to rely on the usb connection. what a load of ****.

Posted by: JP

This doesn't cover "every NOKIA",

ie. my 6820 in cananda on roger's network

i don't even think 6820 is on the radar yet for this website

Posted by: suparjerk

Doesn't work for me. The configuration settings message does indeed get sent, and I can view it. But when I try and save the settings to the phone, it tells me that the phone's settings are locked and gives me no other option but to discard the settings.

Posted by: Rach138

Yep, that top link is useless for CANADIANS with Nokia 6230's.

Please help... nothing seems to be configuring my MMS. I've been searching online all day long and nothing is working.

Thanks.

Posted by: frankthetank128

The site seems to work just fine if your carrier is listed. Under At&t, it has all the phones you list you were having issues with MMS. But what is weird is that Rogers is listed under the browser setup, but not with those models that were mentioned. Most carriers have their own ota sites as well.

Well, my carrier (T-Mobile) is listed. And it doesn't work for me.

Posted by: frankthetank128

If https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/cli...=90&phoneId=105 doesn't work, then try T-mobile'a at https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/cli...ISDN=4255551212

Let me know if either don't work, cause they worked great for me off the bat.

Once again, I received settings both times, and both times it wouldn't let me save because my settings were "locked".

you can likely use the 6200 option, i have a 3120b, and i used the option for 3100, and it worked like a charm for t-mo usa

Add me to the list. The Nokia Configurator page only seems to have phones that are 'supported' by Rogers' network.

Does ANYONE out there have the WAP/MMS settings for a Nokia 6820 on Rogers/AT&T network? I received the following settings from Rogers' data dept. but they do not work

---suggested by rogers for nokia 6820 ---------------
---*settings do not work* -------------------------------
For WAP browsing on phones and other WAP devices:
1. APN: goam.com
2. URL or HomeDeck: http://mymobilehomepage.rogers.com
3. Username: wapuser1
4. Password: wap
5. Wap IP 1: 208.200.067.150

HELP
i got a 7610
does anyone hv the WAP settings for T-Mobile in the US??

Posted by: Alpha788

I tried to have Nokia email me the GPRS configuration settings but my model (7610) is not listed or supported for Rogers Wireless. I tried some of the other 7000 models but no luck, Strangely enough I managed to configure the data side successfully and managed to get email thru the APN settings for "internet.com".

I have tried every combination for APN "goam.com" including programming in of the Primary and secondary IP addresses. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Hey, Howard how did you get the browser working for your review of the 7610 or were you using Fido?

Yet another person that needs settings for my Nokia 6820 on FIDO

Posted by: tvo14

This is the link to the nokia site. I used it to setup my unlocked 6820. Browser and Email works like a charm now! It sends your config file via sms and you save the file and bam, it works.

Posted by: CatDancer

I found this at the T-Mobile site that appears to start from the beginning for setting up phones & PDAs.

T-Mobile Configurator

I haven't used it yet, but I'm trying to set up an unlocked/unbranded Nokia 6260.

Posted by: Comsult

See the website below for the settings for Rogers Wireless for the Nokia 6820. The Rogers smtp address is smtp.rogerswirelessdata.com - use this address instead of the one in the Nokia document.

http://www.nokia.ca/english/products/6820/6820.asp

I set it up using this and it worked!

Hi guys.
I bought my 6230 from e-Bay (factory unlocked, BTW, without operator logo, nice and clear).
Everything is just perfect, MMS, e-mail, bluetooth, infrared.... but!
I set-up the WAP settings for mobile internet, but this doesn't work. While trying to connect to any wap site, seeing "Creating GPRS connection" message for few minutes, then "Connection is not available".
I called Nokia, Rogers, few times, they are not able to help... Rogers sent me to this site. Hope somebopdy is able to help.
WAP settings are identical to what I see above in this thread:

Primary IP: 208.200.067.150
Primary Port: 9203
Secondary IP: 208.200.067.151
Secondary Port: 9201
APN: goam.com

I use tmobile on an unlocked 6230 and I can't get the AIM to work. The other phone on my service plan which is natively tmobile can access AIM just fine. After a while I get the error "Not connected to server". The nokia configurator for SMS worked though.

Hi all,

I am really new in settings WAP on the phone. When the settings above are given? How do I exactly input those parameters?

There seems to be anything like the input line in my phone configuration settings menu to input these data.

Your help is really appreciated. Thanks alot!!!

CDMA phones come set up for data from the provider. I'd suggest calling Customer Service if you have problems with data

Posted by: Spiftacu1ar

I am not even receiving the message. did i enter the phone number wrong. It said to write it in international format, but i didn't know the country code for us, so i just did +650#######

Posted by: Spiftacu1ar

Ok, wat exactly do the settings do?
sorry, didn't mean to double post

If you're located in North America, the format is +1 then the area code and then your number.

Hi there -

Where I can find the password?

Is this gonna enable my 6255i to be use as a modem/WiFi to connect to the internet? I'm with MetroPCS and thanx as I was not following from the start here.

No, the configurator from WDS / Nokia is for GSM models only. CDMA wireless data requires provisioning on both the network side and the handsets. Also, 6255i doesn't have the WiFi capability.

My wife brought home a Nokia 6111 from a recent trip. So far I can only get part of the data settings to work with T-Mobile USA.

I can browse with WAP just fine. In fact, it's fast enough that I think it's using EDGE. But e-mail is another problem. Whenever I try to retrieve mail it says "Subscribe to packet data first."

This makes no sense to me. I'm able to use WAP, so I must be on packet data. But the e-mail client doesn't see it.

Oh, and there's another problem -- for some reason it doesn't receive or care about OTA activation SMSes. I've used the Nokia and T-Mobile online configuration services and the messages never arrive. I even called T-Mobile and had them send an OTA message, and got narry a chirp from the phone.

I know SMS works because we send messages back and forth all day.

Any idea why the e-mail client can't see data?

Posted by: Perry

I have the same problem. I request the settings but they never arrive. Meanwhile I and sedning and receiving tons of SMS messages from/to friends and family.

???

I noticed that every country has their own version of the configurator. I used the global one and the CDN one: http://nokia.ca/english/support/settings.asp

Posted by: Reaperducer

I most recently tried the T-Mobile configurator for the UK, but again -- the settings never arrive. I assume that is because it only sends to UK phone numbers.

It just seems strange to me that there are settings that can only be sent via SMS, and not set from within the phone. That's one of the big reasons I went to unlocked GSM phones -- so I wouldn't be at the mercy of some random phone company's whims.

Does anyone know if Cingular has a configurator that works with the 6111? It would be worth switching her to Cingular if it exists.

You can defeintely key teh settings yourself - it is a 10 minute job. Scan this forum for settings for your specific carrier.

I was just hoping to avoid doing this manually.

Posted by: Firefox190

Cool!!! This was VERY helpful!!

Posted by: Perry

Can anyone think of a reason why this would not work? I am stumped.

My SMS works, but I never get the config messages from Nokia.

Posted by: Perry

I finally managed to get the settings for my E61 - but using the internal 'Settings Wizard' in the Tools folder.

First I went in the Settings ultility and set the phone to Rogers as my network rather than automatic. Before making this change the wizard would crash.

I then ran teh Wizard and it retreived settings for Rogers and Fido.

Very sweet!

Need to know if I can use my Nokia 3595 gsm phone in Italy ?? If I buy an Italy Prepaid Gsm chip while over there... I believe my phone handles 850/1900 will this work for over there on there frequencies ?
thank you

I looked through the T-Mobile discussions and read every message that the search returned with 6111 in it, and there's nothing at all on this forum with settings for my specific carrier.

All of the phones I've had in the past have had a place where you can enter incoming and outgoing e-mail servers right on the phone. This is my first Nokia and it seems insane that the only way to get it configured is through a carrier's online service.

So, I'll reiterate -- anyone know of a way to configure the Nokia 6111 for e-mail? When I call, T-Mobile USA doesn't support it and it doesn't receive SMS configuration texts from the online configurators.

any time i try and send the settings to my phone, they never make it to my phone. I have done this countless times and spent hours on hold with at&t but all to no avail. any help here would be appreciated.

I called Nokia CS, and they told me they were having problems with the website, he couldn't even pull the settings for my 8801 to send me. He said to give it a couple of days, and try again. I'll give it until tomorrow afternoon, and then call and see what's up again.

Posted by: madmattco

i will do that then. this is getting frusterating as hell

Posted by: Reaperducer

The only solution I found was to sell the 6111 on eBay and buy an iPhone. It just works. I'm done with Nokia's promising features and only half-delivering them.

question! i was changing the back housing on my phone and because i was really excited to i forgot to manually turn off the phone, i just took the battery out. well after everything is put in place i turn the phone back on and notice that my CALENDAR ENTRIES FROM THE MAIN SCREEN DISAPPEARD. i actually had a couple memos set for the day too. what do you think i should do? i actually want this feature because i can be a forgetful person.

Posted by: kay188

The site fails to send me a text message with the settings.

Same with Sony Ericsson's site.

Both fails to send it to my Nokia and SE phones.
