Beware that there is an incompatability between the new 6.1 upgrade that I installed on my Motorola Q 9h and Microsoft Exchange Server 7.0.

These two systems do not play well together. Problems will occur when attempting to send mail using the Q 9h 6.1 when your company uses Exchange server 7.0. Outgoing email will get stuck in your Outbox folder but the system the phone will continue to send at least two copies of the mail at the time of sync until you delete the message from the Outbox.

You will ofter also see that the sync will stall and you will get the following error code. 0x8500200C. The Microsoft support forum has a statement that this is a known issue and they will have a fix for the Exchange Server later in the year..

Pretty sad deal. I would not upgrade to 6.1 at this point if your company uses Exchange Server 7.0.

I believe you are talking about exchage 2007 and I have never heard of anyone else experiencing this problem with a wm6.1 device. I would delete your exchange account from the phone and create and resync from scratch

It is weird that you mention this because I had the same problem with my BJII running 6.0 intermittently. it would not happen all the time but about 50% of the time. The weird thing is that it happened with my pop account and never my exchange account.

Since I switched back to the Q9h and upgraded the ROM I have not seen the problem with either account and I am using exchange 2007.

Thanks you are correct it is Exchange 2007 not 7.0.

I would suggest that you guys take a look at series of posting from a Microsoft forum that seems to do a pretty good job of explaining this problem. The link follows:

I have continued to try to get a fix for the email issue with Exchange 2007 and WM 6.1 and continue to be unsuccessful.

I have been in contact with Motorola customer service and they seem to agree that there is an issue but they told me that they would not support a downgrade of my WM to 6.0 from 6.1. They told me that the "fix" must come from my IT department but the IT department tells me that they are running the latest version of Exchange 2007 that is available from Microsoft.

Anyone have any suggestions to resolve this issue. Is there a way to get back to WM 6.0 until there is a fix distributed for Exchange 2007.

microsoft better get this patch out soon, or there could be alot of unhappy people.

Agree. I saw today that AT&T is introducting a new grey version of the 9H Global with WM 6.1. If it has the same compatability issue with Exchange 2007, you could have a lot of returned phones.
