Bell long distance (I've read the FAQ but need clarification)

OK, so I understand that as long as I'm in my local area, I can receive ANY calls (non-collect) as local. Sounds good.

I understand I can visit Toronto (I live in vancouver) and call toronto local. Makes sense.

Now, what about if say, I'm in vancouver (778 number on cell) and a friend from Prince George comes for a visit (250 number). So as mentioned in the FAQ, that friend can call local (local as in vancouver area -- phones with 604 or 778 I presume) and since I'm in my local area it's local for me. So no LD charges will be applied for either of us?

#2
WHat about if I call them? My friend's number is 250 and he's in my local area, so if I call the number will it be considered local for me even though it's a 250 number?

#3
On the flip side, if he receives my call.....he'll be charged long distance then because he's out of his local calling area (prince george)??

Does this mean that if you are visiting a different city, feel free to call local there. But you can't take any calls without being charged LD?
So the best method would be to have the visitor make the call so neither party gets charged for LD?

can someone clarify this?

thanks

1. No Long Distance
2. Long Distance Charges occur on both lines.
3. Your friend will incur long distance charges for all calls answered.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

You've got it figured out correctly.

Calling visitors from out of town used to be convenient with Roamer Access Numbers. Unfortunately, these no longer exist.

Another quick question.

If I want to call someone in a different city (long distance) do I have to dial 1 first before the number?

The only difference I noticed is that omitting 1 gives that recording saying that "ld charges will apply"

So should I dial 1 + area code + number? Or does it not make a difference in terms of LD charges?
