I bought a 4900 because of its speakerphone. It does not browse on the net for over a minute when connected to my laptop. Is this indicative of the 4900, or is it a Sprint characteristic? Is there a limit of how long a 8100 or 5300 can stay connected to the web when using it with a laptop?

Sprint characteristic. You need to setup a looping ping. Someone posted the command (very simple) on the sprintusers forum. Works perfectly after that.

GOTO
START>RUN
type in
ping -t sprint.com
hit ENTER
and you`re good to go
it`ll keep pinging sprint.com and this way your conection will be alive.
Also to get better picture quality press CRTL+F5
this way they will be refresh and you`ll see orginal picture quality without any compressions

You guys are great! Today I was able to stay connected using a program called 1kickthis. It transferred data every minute. I like the pinging suggestion. Is any data transferred when pinging?

there is but really small amount
also I saw some other command that will let you delay your ping
so your pc pings sprint every 5 sec or 10 sec
I don`t remember that command you will have to do small search to find it on our forum or sprintusers

"ping -l 1 -t sprint.com" will reduce from 32 bytes to 1 byte per ping.
