I am thinking to move my primary # to rogers.
However, keep my current bell plan active...

Is there a way to do that?

It would probably be more hassel than its worth but if you're willing to go through it, and if you can find a Bell employee who might be willing to go through the trouble for you you can probably swing it. Its been done before.

You open up a prepaid account with a "whatever" number. Then you call into CS and see if the can swap numbers from your paygo and monthly (this is the hard part as you probably wont find anyone willing to do this) account. Then once thats done, you port your paygo number, which is your main number) to Rogers and then you keep your bell line active with a new number.

Its possible I believe but very difficult to do as most CS reps will tell you its not possible because there is simply no gain in a company doing that for you.

1 suggestion
DONT call customer service (as pointed out above, no benefit to them)
Call CDS and tell them to do that exactly
A little more work, but as the CDS rep gets paid commission for activation (and clawback for deact) they will be more than willing to help (number swap means they wont be clawback, so its a win-win)

Consumer Direct Sales (Bell Mobility telemarketers)

I think number was 1-888-4MOBILE (466-2453) but it might be a 1-866 number...
