Hi Guys,

I don't know much about this stuff. My plan has the 450 Anytime minutes with unlimited nights/weekends.

If I sign up for MyCast 5 Weather, in addtion to the $3.99 per month what are the charges, or how am I charged for airtime while I am on MyCast5?

I hope this question makes sense. Does the airtime come off of my 450 minutes per month, or am I charged a data charge, or just how does the charges work? The demo version of MyCast5 seems to be real nice, and I'm wondering just how much Verizon is going to ding me, in addition to the $3.99 per month, if I sign up for it. Thanks.

They'll charge you $1.99/MB, which can get really expensive for an app like that. Unless you have the unlimited data or VCast.

On the older plans they used to take out minutes but it's my understanding that they no longer offer the older plans so it comes out of data.

It all depends on your plan.If you have an older America's Choice II Plan your time browsing on MyCast Weather is treated as a call and uses minutes. If you have a newer Nationwide Plan then Verizon charges by the KB. As was said,if you are on a Nationwide Plan you should have unlimited data added on unless you're sure you'll only talk and text.

Thanks guys. You have been a BIG help. I'm on the older America's Choice II plan so it should come out of minutes. I appreciate your help and answers.
Thanks again.

Good to hear. Since you're on an AC II Plan you'll have unlimited data on nights & weekends. A nice plus.

That is good to know. I really appreciate your help.

I signed up for the My Cast 5 Weather. I'm in Pensacola, FL and I will really use the radar function because the weather can sure change around here in a hurry, especially in the Summer.

Thanks again for your help and answers to my question.
