looks like it's getting more complicated?

http://mobilesyrup.com/2008/11/01/b...14th-for-39995/

SD or wi-fi - why can't I have both?

Posted by: quanta!

The Touch Pro probably does have Wi-Fi - it's just not one of the Top 5 talking points.

Aside: this ad is strange, since the Touch Pro image is flipped - the keyboard slides out the wrong side and the HTC logo looks backwards.

I'm SURE I've seen more than a few sites state the Pro CDMA would NOT have wi-fi, (sorry, no evidence to post yet).

Being a pessimist I will expect nothing, so I won't be dissapointed....

Posted by: quanta!

Sprint's HTC Touch Pro has Wi-Fi, so the hardware appears to support it.

I suppose Bell could disable the Wi-Fi, but they didn't cripple wireless in the HTC 6800 or Touch Diamond, so it seems unlikely.

(I've read stories that the HTC Touch HD, a totally unrelated GSM device which will never appear in North America, lacks Wi-Fi. Could this be the device you were thinking of?)

ooooh that is quite possible, i've had a couple drinks...;-)

not looking to argue, just hoping there will be TWO new Touch AND the BB Storm to make the Xmas season extra fun! Contract up in Jan - looks like a nice time to renew.

What the hell? What's with the beaver?

Posted by: quanta!

Forget the beaver and the photoshopped pumpkin, what's with the GSM Touch Diamond?

With data you have to try and negotiate with different features.

eg. Get free Unlimited Text [$15]

That way you get rebates and discounts on other features besides data.

Use the fact "Your upgrading to a data device" to get rebates on everything BUT the data.

that makes good sense sammy. I pm'd u earlier. Thanks for the reply here though. The thing is, I'm currently on the shoppers plan so ive got the unlimited txting in there. It just feels like a pain in the a$$ to jump from $7 unlimited to $30 unlimited AND ALSO pay a good $200 for the new diamond.

do u know about current customer eligibility for ISPRs on the HTC Diamond? Is it possible, and how much?

The same eligibility as a new customer as far as I know.

PS. Didn't receive any PM.

oo ok..thanks anyways for the info though. I dunno if u read the "it happened, they offere me more" thread i made. But id like ur input on it too, if possible.

i currently am on my 12th month of my 24 month term. Since my phone wasnt functioning right, i was offered the 3 yr renewal credit early. So I currently have a $200 upgrade credit thing (that is displayed online), and a bell rep offered me another $100 bill credit. I'd like to purchase the diamond, but im wondering what it'll cost me, after an ISPR is applied on a new 3 yr renewal.

Any insight?

Also the processor speeds are wrong for all of the devices except the touch, it should be 528mhz not 578Mhz...

It doesn't come out of the box Rev A, it doesn't come out of the box WinMo 6.1, it doesn't come out of the box with Opera.

nope. You'll have to add the $30 plan for the data.

Touch Diamond had 4gb internal storage. Pro has 512mb, but is expandable.
