Returning the Phone (Touch) under Warranty

Hey guys i thought this is the best place to ask.

I got my Touch Last year (still under original warranty)and i also bought some TIER 2 Warranty for $109 cause the guy told me, its probable that it will have problems.

So it did, my screen started to sort of peel off the top. its like a rainbow colours and whenever i touch it they start moving around (Protection screen is taken off)

So i went to bell and told them about this stuff, they told me they put a request for a new phone but it will probably be refurbished one. So my question is, how reliable are the refurbished ones? And what does that TIER 2 Warranty do? How Long does it Last? The guy who originally sold it to me said it will be a new phone, now its a refurbished one?

It will be a new phone to you.

The refurbished units are just as reliable as a new phone.

It extends the manufacturer's warranty for 2 years IIRC

I just got a replacement Touch the other day and as far as I can tell it's a brand new phone.
If it's a refurb there is absolutely no evidence of it.

In the phone dialer just type ##786# and scroll down to refurbishment status if you want to know.

interesting... mine doesnt say anything on Original Activation date.. its say Not Available... should i just reactivate?

Yeah I checked that and the refurb status was "No".

It also says the original activation date was Oct 30/2008. I'm guessing if it was a refurb those two entries would be different, eh?
