Anyone try an HP iPAQ 910 ?
This one I can actually purchase through work for $350 unlocked/no contract.

Check the Windows Mobile forums. The general impression is that the phone is solid but the battery life is less than spectacular.

Solid RF, but battery life is so-so and the OS is typical WinMo (laggy).

I just purchased the Ipaq 910 C from the US, carried the phone to France where I have service with SFR. My phone doesnot recognize the French SIM card. Further sometime it freezes giving me an error with device.exe. Are there any compatibility issues. The phone is advertised as a quad ban open phone and it has settings for many mobile carriers around the globe?? Or may be I have a defective ipaq??
appreciate any reply
thanks

I've had the iPAQ 910c for one month now and I love its form factor. The PDA portion of the device is quite solid.

The UI is the barebones WinMo UI for touchscreen devices. This is very good if like me, you appreciate the textual information this interface brings, or if you want to choose an alternate UI yourself and don't want an alternate UI from a manufacturer (HTC's Touch Flo 3D or Samsung's TouchWiz, etc.) weighing down your device and not being able to uninstall it.

The only bad side is the phone portion is unstable. It is still quite usable and has good RF, but I've seen all sorts of weird behaviors from time to time, like pressing the button on a BT headset to answer and the phone not answering, that really makes the iPAQ 910c the buggiest phone I have used so far in a PDA.

@haabdela: I have tested AT&T, T-Mobile and Claro SIM cards successfully with my iPAQ. The SIM card from Claro even has a different MCC than the one used by AT&T and T-Mobile. I'm afraid you got a defective unit.

Does it take a mini USB charger? I've looked everywhere and can't find out if it's a proprietary connector or a USB...trying to find out for a customer, I don't have one here I can take out of the box and check. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The previous owner may have locked the phone to a specific SIM card. Try doing a hard reset. You can find the User Guide in several languages at: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...eriesId=3551665
