Hi,

Since updating the software on my phone via the Sony Ericsson update service my phone wont charge from the mains. Charging from the PC via USB works fine but I have tried 2 different mains chargers and it wont charge.

Ive cleaned all the contacts and reseated the battery but still nothing.

Am I missing something obvious?

if it charges via usb then there's nothing wrong with the battery, contacts or
charging circuit and must therefore be the mains chanrger(s) - but 2 different ones ??

Do any of the mains chargers work with another SE phone ?

Yup, tested it on a K750i and they both work fine, its really bizarre. I tried re updating the phone using SEUS but it still wont charge on the mains.

I fail to see how a SEUS update can "disable" charging !!! Does the phone display
any warnings or errors - foreign battery or invalid battery ???

No warnings at all, charges fine on USB but when plugged into the wall the lightning bolt on the battery indicator fails to appear. I've just tried a master reset but that done nothing.

what kinda of charge % has the battery got at the moment ?

My c902 would always show charging when on the USB (trickle charge maybe ?)
but not always when on mains as the battery was 100% - I'd sometimes miss
the fully charged message !

It's at 49% at the moment

The only options I can think of at this point are reflash. Whether that's a "forced"
SEUS update (use the continue anyway), a davinciteam reflash or back to an SE
service center is down to you. SEUS is free of course :-]
