Hi,

Just a quick question about the firmware version shown in the attached picture. That's my GD88 and I'd like to know what version it is and how recent it is.

Its the bit written on the top line, at the end, so yours is A40

jj21, from where/whom did you get your phone? I supposed it's not from Rogers right?

A40 was released before A39.

I do not get the weird numbering convention either......May have something to do with the target market it was intended for??!!??!!

The phone was purchased in mainland China (near Macau) in early April. Since I hadn't seen anyone mention A40 FW I was wondering about it.

Also, I bought it under a China Mobile network but it's unlocked so I'm currently using Fido/Microcell while I'm in B.C.

Sorry, A40 has been mentioned a few times before. Not really talked about much but definatly mentioned. I had it in my mobile back in April.

my firmware must have come out of the ark A16-16 vodafone. and does the date below firmware number, indicate date of manufacture? mine says wed. oct 9th. does anyone know how and what I need to upgrade, in simpleton step by step terms, I,ve seen some upgrade layouts, on other forums and there seems to be some risk, and what exactly do I gain?
