thats what he gets for being stupid

Posted by: Aurora

Ouch!

That's pretty sad...stupidity I tell you. I guess he kinda had it coming with the way he was driving.

Posted by: Garfbag

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! WHY!! WHY?? WHY????

there is nothing to show!!! the mod he has doesn't do much anyways....WHY?!?!?!?

Posted by: aryx

Because he doesn't know how to shift properly in the first place that's why.

The RSX Type S shifter gates are pretty close but not so close that you can misshift! I have a 6 speed RSX-S and I have never misshifted. I even learned stick on the damn car!

Like he said he wasn't quick enough to depress the clutch thereby saving him all that destruction.

Well an expensive lesson learned, lol. I hope it won't cost him too much to fix. He should learn how to handle/grasp the shifter, it sounds as if he was pistolgripping the shifter. It's a straight pull down from 3rd to 4th so he shouldn't have misshifted if he handled it right.

Oh well whatever, I'm gonna go and drive my RSX now, its sooo nice outside. lol

the post in the link said that he wanted to go to 4th from 5th.

But went to 2nd by mistake.

i can see how that could happen. i've never driven an RSX Type-S, but i'd love to give it a try.

He was trying to go from 5th to 4th... but then shifted to 2nd instead...

Posted by: bizzyseller

Ouch.

It seems as though he is rich, so the car was dispensible.

lol isnt that what evil homer just said? lol..

ouch... i did that once.. but was lucky nothing happened to my engine... just smelled bad for a bit.. sigh..

Posted by: c^2

wow...I never seen an engine blow that bad...

I love this pic...

he's holding the pistons...wonder that it will cost to repair...

Posted by: Aurora

More than I could afford...that's for sure.

NOPE... Evilhomer was saying that he was going from 4th to 5th, and he was wondering how he ever got down to 2nd by doing that...

but really... he was going from 5th to 4th, but got 2nd instead...

Posted by: [Corporal Dan]

That's worse than those mustang 5.0s that got ripped in HALF by crankwalk. Seriously.

Edit: Sorry! Couldn't resist!

Posted by: mawti

Sorry Dan, but you seem to be really grasping at straws here. What does some ******* mishifting and blowing up his engine have to do with "Honda reliability"? Are you saying this wouldn't happen in say a Chevy (baring that there is no gear lock up)?

Does it take an engine in 5th @ 7000 revs, being slamed into 2nd with nothing breaking to = "reliable"?

Posted by: [Corporal Dan]

It was a joke.

Thank you wongster.

now that i read my post, i could have said it a bit more clear.

As i had said, to go TO 4th FROM 5th.

which i should have put, was in 5th, going to 4th, but hit 2nd by mistake.

Well with any new model coming out, there's bound to be quirks and defects which is why I skipped the first years model. The problem with the early batches of 6speed trannys was with the syncros, the 2nd gear I think has triple syncros giving it that "notchiness" that everyone complains about. Acura will and should have them replaced under warranty, I've asked my dealer about this issue if it should ever occur to me he said to just bring it in no questions asked. It was resolved in midproduction of the 2002's but even with the 2003s you'll still feel some notchiness going into 2nd gear.

My tranny feels like rowing through butter, it doesn't have that nochiness that my friend's RSX has (knock on wood).

<-- too lazy to read the link, but I'm assuming a RSX driver misshifted, 5th --> 2nd? I've done that before on the lude.... :/ That's a LOT of damage.

its like on the fear factor.. "you must eat 3 of these(animal nuts) in 2minutes inorder to advance to the next level. the quickest 2 of you will advance, 1 of you will not..."

Gonna fight it myself. (Well, actually made meeting with prosecutor first, see if I can reduce it to no points.)

wow Dan, what a non-typical response of a someone who has nothing to say. "like I care"?

Very well, its good not to respond to flames (especially if you have no reply for them). But in the future, don't bother posting any more of your demeaning comments or opinions here because any one of us can just as easily end it with a "like I care". Have a nice day.

oh ya, still haven't taken care of that yet? when is your court date? maybe I will come and observe...take notes from the "master".

anyways, good luck.

lol theres not much to do but keep delaying it.. until one time the cop is not there.. because.. if cop there and i fight it.. guarantee i lose.. there really is no excuse to fight out of a speeding ticket at 210+.. for sure i will have lic suspended... ..

yes yes i know. i should not speed.. i haven't sped in a while well except for the dvp incident.. but thats about it..

(Apologies in advance for thread jacking )

WoNGsTer, how many times have you delayed it so far? What reasons do you give that gets them to accept the delay? Thanks!

Posted by: sneakerpimp

I highly doubt a mishift would cause the amount of damage that was shown. Do you know the actual person who owned that RSX? The block sleeve ripped on a BRAND NEW motor. I've only seen that happen on a B-series running ethanol!! The only thing that may have played a factor would be the hondata proggy. That probably messed with stock timing and whatever the **** he did with his car to mess it up.

Posted by: AHAMAY

I'm pretty sure he misshifted. He said so himself. At 125mph in 5th going to 2nd gear. The results looks resonable. If you thought he didn't, what are does egg shaped pieces looked like in his hand?

This is the website I think:
