The SIM costs £5, and this credit can be used to purchase either 5 days of unlimited* internet access for £2.50, or one day for £1. A number of inducements, including ten free days of internet, can be seen at Goodybag.
* It's unlimited for normal surfing use, but they'd probably cut you off before you got The Hulk completely downloaded.

Orange also offer a £1 per day add on for PAYG
Virgin Mobile will offer a 30p per day capped service (25mb)
