A Couple More 8390 Questions (splash removal/backlight)

OK, I have a couple more 8390 questions. Please forgive me if they've been covered in the past, I searched and came up with nothing.

This is my first Nokia (past phones are Sony, Motorola, Ericsson, Samsung). I bought this phone from a guy on eBay and recieved it yesterday. It was previously on the AT&T network (as most 8390s in the states are). I paid some guy in the UK ~$5 for the unlock code, popped in my T-Mobile SIM and it works fine.

1. Is there any way to remove the 'Welcome to Mlife' splash screen when you turn the power on?

2. Is there any way to change the length of time the backlight stays on?

u can try to restore factory settings! that should change it back to whatever it was! ig uess it'll change back to AT&T instead! unless u have infared or cable, u can use logomanager or other software to change the startup welcome logo! I changed my welcome logo myself! lolz.. I hated my ROGERS AT&T (canadian GSM provider)..... it works like a charm using infared and logomanager!

Yes, I already tried 'Restore Factory Settings' (4-9) after I unlocked the phone and that didn't work. Is there a more 'complete' reset I can do and do I need any special hardware/software to do that?

hyumm u tried restore factory settings and it doesn't work??? I guess the only way i can think of is using an INFARED or a cable to change it... that's the only way i can think of it if restore factory settings...

Sorry I cante help you.

But do you mind telling me what site you used for the unlock code?

Thanks in advance

The logo may be locked by the provider - depends on the phone. Fido phones in Canada generally have the startup logo locked.

The fix: Reflash the phone with generic firmware - then it's not a problem at all. (tho come to think of it haven't tried uploading a logo to the phone - I shall try that tonight)

unlock code for each phone is unique, so even if you have the same model of phone, the unlock code will be different.
