UTStarcom TXT8010 / Verizon Blitz, QPST/ etc NV download fail.

So I tried downloading the NV backup to QCN on my verizon blitz,
using the software download utility, and after 80%, the phone reboots
and only a 135KB file is created. Here is what happens:

NV File: D:\Program Files\QPST\bin\BlitzDefault.qcn
Status: Memory Backup Failed
Errors: Could not Communicate in Diagnostic Mode
Files: 80%

However, the RF NV Manager, when I save those items as a QCN
it is also 135KB, no error or whatever.
Is there any way I can read the other 20% ?
Is it not possible, or how can I have it not error?

So confused.

Ok, on build 264, it gets to 73% , with a 142-145kb file, but it doesn't view the same
things in the NV viewer. (build 231 or 234 previously)

Ok... it won't work with BitPim either tried different com-ports , rates, etc... has anyone had luck viewing this thing in any file-tree type of software? Wondering if it may just be the drivers...

Something interesting to note... even if i don't connect, EFSExplorer auto closes, and when i do hit connect, the green light never turns on.

Managed to download NV 0 with build 215, as later versions don't even show,
my esn is all 0's, but prob so is my meid, assuming they aren't located in the same file... and the verizon store won't repair prepaid not activated phones. This is getting lame.

Anyone else figure out anything? It seems to have read the subdirs just fine and then
i'm not sure what happened... did UTstarcom / pantech make a similar cdma phone I
can test the settings with? Also is there a way to force bitpim into brew mode?

Ok, after seeing the settings other programs use, I'm currently working on a Blitz only edit of bitpim based on the dec 15th beta release so it will finally work (it sort of works now, but fails because of the most lame error checking i've ever seen out of a python script, damn brew).

Still looking to repair my ESN / MEID (both are zeros) if anyone knows the exact offset locations it would be most helpful.

Apparently PT-SURF6300-ZRF6300 (blitz) isn't supported by the QPST service programming tool.... does anyone know a work-a-round?

Yes, however they lack certain features that QPST has.

My main goal is to repair my esn/meid which are all 0's after i loaded the updated PRL
file so i wouldn't have to register the phone until after I already had page plus on nam1,
so I could put inpulse on nam2 (one nam for phone, one for the internet, etc).

I have got blitz to work on bitpim using chocolate 3 phone can read file system but when i try to place ringtones it says access to this directory has been blocked by phone provider i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the 16 digit diag code if anyone has it or has seen it please reply

Also works on LG-VX9100 enV 2
Works with most Lg for file sysem

To bring up phone info works with Katana 1 + 2
Says sanyo model also brings up esn and lock code

According to the PST, this phone has no 16 digit code.
What folder / Settings for picture transfer, and you can do this normally from a memory card anyways...

that's weird what pst did you use, maybe not looking in the right place for it maybe, it says file/folder been blocked by phone provider. It was lg vx9100 in the mmc1-my pix had to be in service mode on diagnostic port and spc was sent to the phone before hand don't know if that's why or not won't let me write in it any other way

I'll have to try it, so far nothing will allow you to overwrite the brew folders, etc.

By the way, from what you typed above, you said you could see where the esn/meid was located in the file system? What phone settings / com type (modem port or diag port), and folder location did you discover them at?

By the way, to the PST automatically puts the phone in 'service mode',
however you can also put the phone in 'factory test mode' by typing this in
on the phone: #46484258# and going down to "factory test" and clicking ok,
it'll reboot into FTM.

Borborygm: i have this same phone. mine (was) a verizon prepaid though. i entered the numbers you mentioned and now i cant dial out..it says "this phone is in offline". i was only hoping to get into the phone and add the video recording feature that is disabled because im prepay i guess. please help me get my phone working again i just bought it 2-3 days ago lol

Oh, just redo the same thing(code), or restart it after taking out the battery.

Oh, and soooo sick, the QPST service programming tool works
with the blitz in version 2.7 build 301 as it supports that
late of a chipset

Just figured something out... to read/write only the ESN/MEID areas,
Close QPST/server.
Go to your QPST folder's BIN directory, and rename
NV Decoder.qdf to NV DecoderBackup.gdf
Then, open notepad, and copy/paste only this:

NV_ESN,0,ReadWrite,<DWORD,ESN>#
NV_ESN_CHKSUM,1,ReadWrite,<DWORD,CHKSUM>#
NV_MEID,1943,ReadWrite,<DWORD,MEID>#

Now, save as NV Decoder.qdf in the bin directory
(don't delete the other one in case you need those options later, just rename)
Now open up the QPST NV browser, read from phone---> save the QCN, it'll
be only the three repair files(ESN,CHKSUM,MEID). Save.

The problem is, after I change them from all zeros back to the correct MEID/ESN/CHKSUM, I load it with Software Download in QPST, it says 100%,
the phone reboots... but the changes aren't made after it reboots... I can see it changing for a moment before the reboot in the QPST config panel, but after that it goes back...Lame.

i went and got qpst 2.7 build 301 and the latest bitpim. i entered the code #46484258# and it did nothing. how do i go about getting this fixed cause im clueless lol. i can use motorola phone tools and hexedit a razr but on this im clueless. ive installed all the drivers all the programs (i guess) and all i can get when i plug the usb in is the "sync music" connection. windows detects it as V CAST Mobile Phone - Internal Memory Portable Media Player. i have no idea if i installed everything in the right order, and im pretty rusty as mentioned above...im not so good with these newer phones, this seems very difficult. Please help lol

naw dude, you have to disable MTP mode:

type in uh...
*#6780
now press end call
do *#6781 to re-enable whenever.

Then, get some drivers... the ones from the Helio Ocean work...

now press end call. do *#6781 to re-enable whenever." right? end call is red power button right? gonna need a link to the drivers i went to http://www.helio.com/support/downloads/pc-sync and clicked on PC Software at top left and it takes me to the Ocean Device Driver link but i click it and i go back to the page above. so i downloaded the one for the MYSTO but its not picking it up and it says its a samsung driver installer.

HAHA! i entered #46484258#, went to update cdma, it showed current version and "ok" i pushed clr and the verizon logo popped up so i quickly took out the battery put it back in and powered up...shes back to normal. BUT however Borborygm i would like you to teach me how to get into the phone and turn on the video feature mainly...other stuff can follow later if possible lol

THor, honestly, I wish this OS was moto, but sadly you can't seem edit like that.
Video feature? didn't know it had the ability, i'll sift through the NV items and such.
You can look through a few options from your phone... type: ##7764726

No not in the file system just in the phone info window can't get it to do anything on the diag port everything everything has been done in modem port, but haven't been able to put anything on the phone since it won't let me forgot what phone I had it set to I'm pretty sure it was an Lg though

WOW majorly confused lol. i got my phone back to normal. thats where i am. if i type ##7764726 and hit send it says "UNLOCK PHONE" and ******(6) show up to unlock it. idk the 6 digit number so... also i searched google for MTP and frankly im confused lol. i went to device manager in windows and disabled the phone and tried to update the driver but no luck with the Helio Ocean drivers. I downloaded that zip and i am waiting for further info lol

Thanks much. With the free GPS enabled/unlocked, it won't matter because
you'd have to run a brew gps app anyways :<

Trying a memory dump later i'll let you guys know what i find...
apparently 'download' mode is restricted on this phone, if you have any
codes for anything else, and/or including that issue, it may be helpful/
may make things easier.

Not QPST, look for the mobile-files link on one of these pages and signup... the link
will say PST. get it.

I have a sticker, i was messing around in QXDM and now my meid/esn are all 0's.

Ok Borborygm i got all those files and i disabled the mtp finally lol my computer recognized it as Pantech modem and Pantech usb port 4. once i open UTStarcom PST what do i do to get everything including the service code? i managed to get a backup of the eri file, i named it UTStarcomERI.bin. what will unlocking do for my phone?

I can't remember because it's been months, but somewhere in the pst is the spc thing.
to get everything, go to the settings or download button thing, and checkbox everything. then hit read from phone. Unlocking will let you use it on other providers that are open, etc etc (cricket, PP, etc)

i got the code. is there a way to be on alltel without them knowing? lol. i wanted to go to verizon wireless post pay instead of prepay but the place where i bought it said they cant switch it over till is been an activated prepay for 6 months...then they "might" be able to lol. i later called them and demanded the service code lol...then said dont expect any further service with me. lol...i have Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD, i flip sometimes. lol let me know what is capable and how to do it. btw what is (cricket, pp, etc) plz elaborate thanx

Well, i was under the assumption that verizon was an 'open' network, aka any compatible cdma device would work on their system.

If not, just go to an alltel store or call them up and see what they can do.
Don't get "short" with them on the phone.

i called another verizon dealer in the area and he said that they have to return my money cause its within the 15 day period of when i bought it. otherwise what id have to do is to be prepay for 6 months then switch to post. or i could do what i just did lol. idk if it will help. but the 1st dealer told me they wouldnt refund it unless the phone had something wrong with it...well i went to my verizonprepay and changed back to my old phone. which left my blitz unable to dial out. anyone got a verizon wireless blitz post paid? i could use the psf file to flash my post paid and take out all the phone numbers etc. or is there a file that will flash it to what verizon can get me when i go to buy a post paid blitz. any help would be great. i dont want to go back in that 1st retailers store...they piss me off!

THOR i thought your whole thing was to get the "video mode" disabled? lol now you're past that. lol. um well i dont have an help to offer but I've been enjoying my prepaid blitz on my post paid account and so has my girlfriend. i know its different for everyone but yeah. i wish there were other people on here helping you two out cuz it would really benefit others.

I have a file VZW.PSF i found on Mobile-files.com. i was able to reset it to activation mode. before this i transfered back to my old phone and made that account for my younger bro. then i flashed my blitz with this file and i could reactivate it. i did this and successfully got a new number and account. but i was wondering if anyone could edit this file so my phone is postpaid

There is an option in the PST, i can't remember which tab, to make it postpaid... it's a radio button.

on the brew tab there is a prepay ticker box...you can select yes or no but i selected no and flashed it like that already...maybe some other settings need to be changed. i didnt bother attaching my prl file or my eri to the PSF file...maybe the clue is in there? let me know if you figure anything out

Hi , i bougth a utstarcom txt8010 but i can find the 4 digit unlocking code en the security tab m in the manual says that it is 1234 but is not true , reading the forum i found how to reveal the unlock code posted by ecartea and it shows me that my code is to caracters and no 4 at least somthing like "õØ" what's that means , somebody can help me to unlock it , or show me how to , thanks.

Thanks for all the help guys!! Once I entered the "correct" code *#6870 end, to get MTP turned off, my computer now properly recognizes the phone and I can connect via UTStarcom PST ST. I needed that functionality to be able to flash update the phones firmware.

I have the UT Starcom Blitz TXT8010pp for Verizon Prepay Service.
I have looked thru and learned how to disable and enable MTP and have found the drivers for the pantec modem and now have vz access detecting my phone, but now I need the drivers so that Rhapsody will see my phone, When I disable MTP and reconnect the phone it shows up as V Cast Mobile phone and I cannot find that driver.
I have looked for hours, trying the Helio Ocean drives and everything else that people have said on here but nothing has worked, may have overlooked something so please somebody, HELP.
Also how do I use bit-pim with this phone?
Thanks, i'm new to the site and hope you guys can help me like you have my thousands of friends who have told me about you guys.

hey Guys, Got a prob.

I got QPst, got my hone recognized, and found my brew file, but anytime I try to access any of my ringtones, it wont access the files and pops up error 266. So I figured i need the msl or spc code, so i got Getspc, but how do i run that on the My blitz phone? Any help would be appreciated

for bonermcfly, spc is always 6 zeros for vzw. and the pst te original poster said to use is worthless. u need utpst, and the proper pantech driver set. not the helio ocean. maybe a little more research next time, there has been a tutorial with step by step available for a long time. good luck guys........

If memory serves, I wasn't able to do this, and wound up sending my ringtone to the phone as a picture message; a plain text message won't work. Also, I remember reading that there's a time limit, so I just cut mine down below 30 seconds rather than trying to figure out the workarounds. It's a nuisance, but I only use one ringtone, so it's not awful.

For what it's worth, I might have responded sooner if you had started a new thread or found one more relevant. You may even get a better answer than mine. I just happened to have some time to kill today, and was actually looking for ways to do backups.

Do U know NE other codes? I can't even get mine 2 link 2 the comp. I've installed the drivers but it just goes 2 Vcast sync. I'm guessing it's not set up 4 USB diag but I don't know how 2 get 2 the menu 2 change it
