I tried using mobicq and it works.

It is a simplified ICQ client using Java for the S55 platform. Siemens S55 because that's what the author is using. So I thought that the SL55 is based on the platform of S55, it should work and I was right.

I was able to load my contact list from the ICQ server and perform basic ICQ functions such as send/receive messages, add users, etc...

Which is cool, ICQ anywhere using GPRS on my SL55... Can't imagine my next phone bill though

http://www.mobicq.org/ is where you can get mobicq, it surely works on Siemens S55 and SL55, give it a try.

For those who need to doawnload through WAP, I added Mobicq to midlet.org last week:

WAP-adress is http://midlet.org/wap

(even used a SL55 emulator when making the screenshot )

But I guess I always have to leave my mobicq java app open if I want to stay online in ICQ right?

If I want to go back to the stand by screen, and do other things instead, the java app will close. There's no way where I could other things and leave my mobicq online?

Cause it does take some time to load that mobicq... at least a full 90 secs to connect and load, and it doesn't always work...

But once you are connected, it really works, damn it's so cool.
