8100 XP Drivers

I'm using the XP drivers from the Sanyo site and am having major reliability problems with them (or the cable). The Sprint PCS Software only detects the phone 1/3 of the time. When it does connect properly, the connection usually hangs during the dialing process. Does everyone use the FutureDial drivers (by buying the SnapSync software), or is there possibly a problem with my cable (made by theSupplyNet.com) or phone?
