Turning off Camera sound/gd87 probs?

I really am getting irritated by my camera sound and really want to be able to turn it off, I know there's a way of upgrading the software on the phone from the A19 that mine is, so that you can do it. but I basically don't know how to do it..

a) What kind of Data cable do I need to connect it to my PC?
b) What software is needed and where can I get it from?
and
c) If it crashes halfway though downloading, will it ruin the phone?

Also, i hear that T-Mobile gd87's come with higher spec software as standard? If this is the case, does this mean they have camera sound turn off straight from the shop?

The camera shutter sound disable is a hack version of software, there are no official Pana releases that do this. As long as you do not turn the power off on the phone, you can restart the firmware download process as many times as you like (make sure that you have a fully charged battery!). Once you turn the phone off, your firmware upload is committed, whether it bombed or not! Yes, you always risk your mobile when doing this sort of activity!

As far as data cable, any should work for the firmware upgrade as long as it looks like a comm port to the computer.

Not to worry as there are plenty of firmwares for you to download to flash your GD87. Have fun!

I too would like a download for new software. I am looking for version 38/39. Can anyone tell me where you can download from??
