New impression and problem with SL55

First of all, My impressions come after using these phones for the last year: S55, Nokia 7210, 5100, Panasonic GD87, SE P800, SE T610, Nokia 3650.

The ringtone volume is definitely high enough...in fact, louder than most of the above

Phone feels very good, and IT IS much smaller than any pic you'll see

The Screen is HORRIBLE...I'm sorry, but Siemens needs to really work on that. All my nokias and the P800 had 4096....They are all much much brighter, sharper, clearer. I mean the SL55 screen feels just a little sharper than my S55. Damn, that pisses me off...I mean I wasn't expecting a 65K screen quality, but the resolution and colors just plain suck!!!

The main problem: Every time I write an SMS message, the phone shuts off...and mine came with 0.7 firmware....that's it for now....does anybody else have this problem?? And did yours come with a strap? I can't find mine

Last thought: Give this baby a proper 4k screen (not even 65k), 4 MB extra, Bluetooth, and I will never buy another phone (until the SX1...of course)

your phone shuts off when you try to sms?! then how do you send messages via sl55??

i thought that no vibration on incoming sms is bad... but that's worse! i feel your pain dude, the sl55 is extremely buggy

the package came in cheap... no handsfree kit, no strap, no cable... nothing! how much does a strap cost damn it??

samsung s300 came with cable, extra battery and handsfree! i highly doubt my next phone's gonna be a siemens...

the SL55 has not been released yet in southeast asia due to the siemens people there said that they are still testing the phone and ironing out the imperfections before they release it.

Really?!? It shuts off after writing/sending an SMS?!?! Man...that sucks...just with you, sammydtd, or has others been experiencing this, too? Just wanna know before I get mine...^_^

I really don't think the shut off problem after composing an sms is on every SL55 and I am sure a firmware upgrade would solve the problem. When I got my s55 with f/w vsn 04 it would freeze briefly after composing an sms but after a f/w upgrade I never had that issue again. I'll get to play with an SL55 tomorrow so I'll see if it hasd the same sms shut down problem as sammydtd
