Hey all,

We can Finally upgrade firmware in Vancouver. In Pacific Centre the Fido Kiosk on the 3rd level (near the waterfall) can now upgrade all Sonyericsson, Nokia and Motorola Phones. The latest firmware for the P800 and T68i's is now available. The new firmware for the T68i's makes the menus VERY fast and the reception significantly better!! The P800 firmware allows "night mode" on the camera and Full screen video playback (for those that do not know the benefits of the new fimare).
Charge is:
$60 for the firmware upgrade for P800
$40 for the firmware upgrade of all other phones (sonyericsson, nokia and motorola)

This is good, but can I ask you, what value do one get for the $60? Specifically:

a) what firmware are you currently upgrading to?
b) what are your guarantees about the flashing?
c) if you fry the phone will you replace it at no charge?

If one manages to get Sony Ericsson themselves to firmware flash a phone (usually by either having a legit problem with the phone that needs a solution, or by lying to SE), and if they fry the phone, they will replace it. And getting SE to flash the phone is free, outside of shipping costs and waiting costs.

If I were to pay $60, I'd be happy to do so if there were guarantees along with the service, and it was done 'while u wait"

u mean the fido booth?

o..... are the P800 firmware upgrade fido version or the original SE version?

Mark --> thanks for your interest. We use the original SE Emma II server and Flash the phone to R2D (Latest). We flash the phone through an AUTHORIZED SE service centre and DO Gaurantee the service and WILL do it "while you wait" (but remember that the P800 takes approx 90 mins to flash). We will also replace any phone that is damaged for free, as does the SE service centre

Team Ayu --> it is not the Fido firmware.....it is the original SE firmware.

All other phones take approx. 12-20 mins.

Edit --> BTW, we will give you a loaner phone (usually 3500 series nokia) and we can do it on Saturday's or the same day if you request it.

Awesome stuff. Is Pacific Center the mall right downtown? or the one on the North Shore two the west of Lions Gate Bridge?

It's the one right downtown. Same mall with the Four seasons hotel and is located in between granville and howe.

what is the latest firmware for Nokia 3650?
What is the difference bewteen the latest firmware and the old firmware (2.50 & 2.54)?

Is there a price protection program like what is offered at bongowireless?

"All flash upgrades are guaranteed a price protection for a period of 30 days from the day you have your phone flashed. If you flash your phone with us and a new firmware version is released within the 30 days of the date you had it done and the version is available for download from the manufacturer then we will re-flash your phone to the newest version at no cost!"

I also have Chinese version N3650 with V 2.16, do you think you can flask my FW to 2.54? Thanks
