password issue with ppp

Hi,
I am staying in Tanzania and I am using CDMA1x for mobile internet with my macbook OSxTiger.
Last week I have changed the provider and I got a problem with logging in.
The new provider requests "@zantel.com" as username and a blank password field.
As long as I leave it empty the process is stopping before the authentification. When I put a password it reaches the authentification but the connection is refused by the server.
Is there any possibility to get a script which lets the modem ignore the empty password field?
