Bah these close up shots only make me think that design wise its even more then a mile away from the 930sh =/ I'm still holding out for a phone that looks as good as this yet has a CCD camera >_>

ps. MAN I need sleep lol I'm barely making any sense

Nice to see Google Maps downloadable and working on the SH9020C. Does it actually link up with the phone's GPS?

Posted by: Kazushi Erukima

Since you have a 9020c that you can play around with I figure I will ask you a few questions that I have. I have looked through threads but I can never really seem to find much about the UI. Just wondering if there is any kind of theme that will allow you to see your wallpaper behind all the menu icons in both horizontal and vertical modes like the SX862(And assumed T92 and 9010c) Link for pictures. Also how about the submenu icons? Are they nice and colourful, or just dull black and white with text.

I think it's just the google maps from the google database.

Posted by: deasine

It looks great. I wish I could afford the SH9020C but the price is crazy.

Posted by: stevetam

The price is cracy for trhe Sh9020C and I'm sure it is the same for the WX-T923. I opted out for a 923SH, now just waiting for an MM unlcok at Pmall! Maybe they have it already.

Sure you can! Sell your Z610i, Sell you friend's phones, and bag of third world children! You can always get a deal like that when you tell the seller that this bag of kids will do manual labor for you for free

Posted by: Kazushi Erukima

So is that a no go then? Isn't there more than one preinstalled theme? Do you think you could take some more pictures of you going through the menu in both horizontal and vertical modes? Would be much appreciated.

Posted by: stevetam

so what is that flash background you are using while the screen is flipped horizontally?

Posted by: Kazushi Erukima

One more quick question for you, does the external display show what music you are listening too like the 920sh/SX862/Wx-T92?

I don't think my Z610i is worth anything right now... especially in the condition that it is. Maybe if I replace it will new housing... AHA =P My friend's don't have any nice phones to sell XD most of my friend's are like locked up to Telus and Bell (or Verizon/Sprint in US).

Posted by: IonNuke

You didn't get any clear cases over the Z610i? I had a piece over the top b/c I knew it was gonna be a scratch and finger print magnet.

Posted by: stevetam

it your z610 rogers locked?

Posted by: aw614

rogers wouldnt sell a z610, b/c its only triband gsm

I hate those plastic cases... they are so ghetto! HAHA. I can deal with the fingerprints... and the keypad/screen is also a fingerprint magnet (it's less obvious with the blue/white & pink/gray colour combination). The scratches aren't really obvious at all unless you hold it in direct light. I think this has a lot to do with the phone colour... go dark gray! I do have a small chip in the front because of dropping in the pavement when I got out of a car =( *sobs*

What's pissing me off is that my navpad ring broke (my friend was like playing with it too much... long story), which is causing the plastic to shed itself not to mention the paint is all screwed up. It looks like I chewed on my phone.

I hate to hijack this thread for my Z610.. but this is what it looks like:

Notice the ring isn't there and the plastic layer underneath is revealing:

Rogers doesn't have the Z610 period. It does have (or Fido rather) the Z750 (A200, slightly different interior, etc).

I'm disappointed too =(

The Z610i looks like it's gone to hell and back. I know mine has a little over 100 hours of call time but I've been using mine sparingly~~~ Usually when I use it, it's like those 4~5 hour calls that deplete the battery and then it spends the next hour or two charging lol

Posted by: Chillyman

Or you can have it charging while your talking I tested the battery of my keitai by letting my brother talk on the phone with his girlfriend, battery lasted 4 hours under a full charge =)

Then technically there's 4 themes. Three 'themes' and the 'theme' thats not actually a 'theme'

Posted by: yamanote

I remember when the Z610 was released. I was at Narita Airport (leaving) and was going to buy it at one of those duty-free shops. I didn't realize I was late for my plane until someone announced, 'Final boarding call for Air Canada flight 2 for Vancouver and Toronto'. I ran down to my gate and got on just in time. Now I know why they want us to arrive earlier: so you can have time to buy a phone at the airport

@deasine I thought the Z610 was shiny/glossy on the outside. Yours is literally MATTE. Wow... the gloss has rubbed off eh?

Posted by: deasine

It's super reflective. You just can't see it because it's reflecting my white ceiling =P

It is suppose to be shiny~~~ I think his is just worn down to almost nothing~~~

Here's mine with protective cover:

Even shiney things have their limits

I used mine for about 2 months and then got bored of it. Since we're all talking about it again, I decided to take it back outta the box so it can join the fun

Although it looks pretty new~~~ It's got over 190 hours of call time. It's kinda ghetto that it didn't display 190 but rather 19-box-.

The Z610i is probably the closest Keitai-Lookalike

No, the Chinese equivalents of the 920SH, 923SH and probably the SX633 (forgot what that one was in SB) are the closest lookalikes as they are basically the same

Posted by: Chillyman

lol I meant for non-Japanese manufacturers (This includes Sony Ericsson)

I think average is $150 now.... The higher priced people will still sell for $200 but they'll give you extra battery and extra chargers and pretty much everything under the sun.

Posted by: stevetam

The XE z710/z610 all look good. I've been liking SE flip phones even thouh they are usually basic. The phantom display just make it cooler!

se flips are too small now and they lost the japanese hinge recently.

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

SE's have flip phones now?! *Le Gasp!* lol jk

Its just that SE is so concentrated on sliders and bar phones =/

Posted by: IonNuke

Wasn't the only Japanese hinge for an SE was the V802SE/V800/Z800 ? It was the only one that I can remember that clicked.

What is a "Japanese Hinge"? The trend for hinges is now that back flip design... found on SH906i, SH-01A, SH-03A, W980, etc.

Posted by: Chillyman

A Japanese Hinge he was referring to is the Sony Ericsson Phones that were a flip phone and a keitai.

Posted by: IonNuke

Reverse hinge I hate so much!

But the Z800i had clicks in it for opening the phone. Like SoftBank 705SH hinge. It clicks when you fully open it.

Posted by: aw614

I meant being able to open the phone and letting the phone sit open like this

like on samsungs and motorolas also the new se, like tm506, when you open it, the phone will open all the way without any assist, which my z750a can do like a 903sh, but z750a hinge is like 903sh where the click is a lot softer but no spring assist. Yet I have no problem with the push button design...

makes sense?

Me as well... I don't get why all the manufacturers are doing this. Is there even an advantage to reverse hinges? Even aesthetically, I don't think it looks nice.

I just realized my Z610i has only 81 hours of talk-time... sigh...

That's A LOT better then my SE phones lol most of them were free from 3 year contracts so they have less then 5 minutes of talk time and hit the shelves =/

Is there any way to check the talk-time on SoftBank phones? I know you can't check on Sharp phones, but how about Samsungs?

You sure about that Yamanote?

P.S. I think this is my first picture with such high quality of a shot that I took

Oh. (-.-") How? I read somewhere here that you couldn't check it.

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

Thats also a docomo phone and not a softbank phone >_> just to clarify ..... XD pretty sure its his SH906i since he has the GSM with RED warning

=) I have it green xD

Posted by: IonNuke

My Docomo has that. But Softbank will only show me the call times. They won't give me the cost.

Posted by: yangj08

...How do you get call costs to show up on the DoCoMo phone? And what's digital?

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

digital is probably data I would think...as for the call costs I don't remember lol >_> I just know its option 4 then 7 for the duration and stuff

Posted by: IonNuke

Oh for costs... I think I put my Docomo UIM in there

Posted by: stevetam

obviously.. it would be magical if it onverted your t-mobile calls into how much yen you went over..

lol if you have yours green then it probably says "GPRS" mine used to say the same thing but when I was playing around with it, which some of the applications tried to connect to i-mode, after a few failed attempts the phone realizes that it can't connect to GPRS, so then I get the "GSM' instead

P.S. It is mine lol.

Every once in awhile I get GSM but a lot of the times I get GPRS now.

I read when gprs is displayed its supposed to be more unstable
My two lines have never gotten gprs, only says gsm

SoftBank phones normally show call cost as well... in the case of the Sharp ones they do anyway. But normally in SoftBank/world Sharps if the inserted SIM card has call costing turned off (ie not supported) the menu gets hidden.

Posted by: tygab

Great photos of the pretty-in-white fingerprint collektah~
When you're browsing thru the local Sharp phone forum here you just can't find a decent picture of a nice phone, most photos are either blurred or airbrushed...

Posted by: tequila.slammer

future145, did you buy it from ebay? Can you post here or PM me the name of the seller? Thanks

Posted by: IonNuke

If you just do a search on SH9020C on ebay there's tons of them or probably just 1 seller with tons of them.

Posted by: stevetam

http://cgi.ebay.ca/SHARP-923SH-9020...%7C 240%3A1318

this guy has 7 Sh9020C - they just display it under the name 923Sh to get more attention

Posted by: tequila.slammer

For now I've found only two, both from the same seller. And no T923 at all, which makes me sad
The point of asking was to get to once more ensure that the seller is reliable

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

That seller happens to sell most of the latest phones released in the Asian market after being refitted from the Japanese models......but still the guy sells it at a rate that costs a arm and a leg D:

Posted by: IonNuke

Anything new usually is an arm and a leg or sometimes in addition with a bag of third world children.

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

That or we all seriously have a mild case of ADD xD

anyways back on topic...I mean......uhmm....yea okay I don't even know what it is so I'll just say back to random rambling.....

those bootleg keitais look pretty jokes lol I wouldn't mind having one for laughs but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one either....(afraid of them blowing up in my pants....)

edit: lol posted in wrong thread...

Posted by: aw614

do those bootlet phones really blow up in your pants? One tvb drama I was watching a chinaphone did

Posted by: yukihiro

Do the 9020c or the t923 have phone strap holes? I haven't seen any in the pictures... I'm seriously contemplating getting one despite their super expensive price tag.

And is eBay the only place to get a 9020c?

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

crap....I thought I was posting in the TV thread....>_> well.....I guess you can read it here LOL

Posted by: stevetam

you are lucky if is an arm and a leg. I expect much more - an arm, a leg, some internal organs and some good red envelopes every year!

Posted by: IonNuke

Yes, they have phone strap holes. They don't, however, have the desktop charger contacts so you can't buy a desktop charger from Japan and use it with these two.

Thanks. I don't mind too much about not having a desktop charger... although it is pretty nifty for my sh906i. It must have phone strap holes though.

Anyways... Hmm... If I get a 9020c, it won't be a keitai anymore. Decisions, decisions... lol. Which also means no more Japanese text... Ugh

Posted by: AL9999

Now that I'm used to my 903 desktop charger, it kinda annoys me I won't be able to use one if I choose to get one of the Chinese versions of Sharp's phones.

If you want Japanese text do a search for a Java application called PiClip... it enables Japanese typing on phones that have the font but not the typing interface.

Posted by: stevetam

wht kind of phone deosn't have a strap hole. What kind of keitai doesn't utilize a strap?

Samsung made that mistake with the first 707SC.

I know most true Japanese keitai's have strap holes, but I've seen plenty of Chinese cell phones that lack a hole or have the worst hole design ever. I had to ask.

Posted by: IonNuke

Strap holes are nice......

I use the most basic strap on my P906. It's a headphone adapter that converts to the standard headphone jack.

Posted by: stevetam

its a microwave.. it doesn't need a strap

Would that PiClip thing actually work on the SH9020c?

Posted by: AL9999

Yes, it's been tested to work on the SH9020C. You type your text using PiClip, then copy and paste it out of there into wherever you need it in the phone.

Last time I checked, Nokia doesn't put strap holes in its phones anymore (they used to, but the last few I checked didn't have any strap hole, sigh).

So does anyone know where I can purchace a SH9020c And sent to Australia ?

I am willing to pay no more then $900 Au Dollars.

I really love this phone pitty there only selling it in china/Taiwan.
Not many know how great the screen quality is on these phones they just kick the hell out of nokia's samsung etc....

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

900 AU (Australian dollar right?) is about 575 or so USD.....for that amount you probably won't be getting a SH9020c unless your in China and your lucky enough to haggle your way into that price

Posted by: Chillyman

Yea, the SH9020C easily goes for $750 USD. If that's not your budget then just stick with the 923SH

Not here, but y'know, there's the issue of buying a plane ticket to China, as well as getting a visa and all that (can you believe it? I first came here intending to have a winter vacation here and now I'm only 1 year short of qualifying for permanent residence- that was a heck of an unplanned stay).

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

Well a plane ticket to China costs 900 CND dollars (last time I checked and you could book up to may)

But that is only for a limited time and I think it raised to 1.1k now.......

Too bad it is during school time I can't exactly ditch lectures lol and its up to may only T_T I still have exams in april.....-_-

If it was up to june I could finish exams in april and go for one month lol XD 900 dollars for a ticket is pretty nice

And I don't have to worry about getting a credit card I could easily use one of my relatives cards (then pay them back) or pay in RMB o.o

It seems totally worth it lol if I had the free time to actually go.....I can afford the ticket right now and I'll have some spending money from my part time job and perhaps some support from parents lol

I can Haggle around and pick up the phone (definitely cheaper then Ebay or anywhere else since I'm getting it from the source) as well as spend some time with my grand mother's and other relatives....

If only I didn't have exams in April T_T......prices for tickets will rise up to 1.8k if its past june and into the summer D:

You might as while tell your parents I'm going off to China to go to school to make it half worthwhile. I'nm not 100% sure of China's universities quality. But around $600 USD for a SH9020C is stretching it

psh go to china and get a PHD in Mathematics and your hired ANYWHERE...and if you think people will make fun of your qualifications because they look down at China's university then go get a degree from UofT like a BBA (my current program lol) and it'll cover it =D

get a job anywhere!! LOL

that aside 600 for the phone would be like the maximum I'd be willing to pay but only if I really liked it. And since I'm not moving to China or going there for a vacation I don't think I'll be getting this phone at all.

Posted by: yangj08

But think of all the money you'll save in college tuition! A year's tuition in an average Canadian college will pay for three at Shanghai's best universities. I'm thinking about it.

Posted by: stevetam

LOL... that is true... Get a degree in Shanghai.. learn some mardarin or whatever dialect they speck.. (Po-tong waa???) and then you are gareenteed a job in China assuming you have good english too.

Posted by: tygab

In local shops here the price of a 9020c was 4150RMB a few weeks back, and they jacked it up to 4300RMB a few days ago

Posted by: yangj08

Where do you live anyway? Up here in Shanghai it just dropped to 4900 from 5180.

You can't find a place that sells it for less than 4300RMB in SH? What about the infamous Boo-yeah-Cheng?

...Oh . That's a whole different ballpark. I was talking about retail stores, not those piles of small vendors. If I'm shopping there might as well pick a WX-T923 instead, the same level of warranty service (you get nothing if you buy from "unofficial channels" in both cases) and have the 3G too (coming in May! About time!).

I only go there to look, generally speaking, with rare exceptions (that's where I got my V801SA).

Posted by: stevetam

the Wx-T923 is still *** expensive.... If you have the money might as while get a 923 and mmunlock it. The only part the fareastone model gives you is the ability no to do CPR

Posted by: yangj08

And Internet. That's the reason I'm still on the fence about getting one of the new keitai- I use about 100MB per month reading news and watching Youtube clips on my current phone (mostly through Opera Mini). But if they can still tether I can just use one with an Eee or something...

Posted by: stevetam

I thought internet was pretty much stopped unless you could gt imode working. Shouldn't the internet settings be something like a docomo?

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

Hmmm well anyone that actually gets this phone and has a chopped in half sim card should probably go buy a drill and some dental floss XD

It'll be as much of a pain to remove as putting the half sim into a 707sc lol. In retrospect a half sim would be better off using a MM unlocked 923sh since you could pull on the hypersim to get it out >_>

uh I thought internet was still possible....just like the WX-T92 but then again I might be wrong meh who cares lol XD

Posted by: 903_rulez

No,
Internet is not possible at all on the 923sh because u have no option at all to input settings from your provider, its all locked to softbank.

we're talking about the taiwanese version......lol probably should have changed it to WX-T923 but meh I figured people would just get the point

You gotta be very specific...... fried tofu please! And no soy sauce. But please gimmie soy sauce on the side thank you

I was at some vietnamese place and wee had these raw beans sprouts for the noodles. These koreans besdie me figure it deosn't look enough like kimchi so they spurt a bunch of hot sauce on it and they don't even eat it!

Be very specific. Not just the WX-t923.. but Taiwan's FarEastone's Sharp's WX-T923 only availabe in Taiwanese markets by FarEastone but Factory Unlocked by Sharp

lol indeed, but to me, I don't really see it as a big feature for me to have, my 5.2MP is good enough since I only take 3MP pictures But I guess the 8MP CCD Camera is there just to own probably all camera phones out there, including the C905

I don't utilize the full 5.2MP on my camera either, but the CCD lens is really what makes the difference. I'm really interested to see how it stacks up against a lot of the pocket sized cameras. Especially since it seems like a lot of the pictures that I take on my phone are usually in low light situations.

I love my Wine Red..

I don't like to shoot full res, on my point and shoot either... its like 5mp for a P&S and 3.2 on a cameraphone

lol in the end you'll probably photoshop the pictures down to VGA or WVGA or even abit bigger if your taking pictures at 3MP, 5MP or even higher.

3.2MP on your Softbank-FOMA-WIN Cybexilim-EOShot phone? I would expect you to take much higher res photos with that superphone!

... thats if My nokia could take 5 MP shots..

My CybαExiLumix-EOShot with Carl Leica Optics Vario Sonnar 3X Zoom Lense .1 - .3mm
3 f/11-22(35-105mm 35mm EQV.)...... can only shoot.......QCIF pictures... but it does have some useless zoom.... just look how slow the lens is!

If it was a half decent fake it would be CybαExiLumix-EOShotix with Carl Leica Vario Sonnar-Tessar MEGA VROIS Image Stabilization Optics 3X Zoom Lens 4.1mm - .12.3mm f/2.8-5.6 (28mm-84mm 35mm EQV.) with Dual Xenon Flash, and Tri-LED Video light and Autofocus lamp.

Hmmm... no wonder when I tried to take a photo of the Yamanote train with my new bravieraquos keitai it blurred more than anyone could imagine... I wonder if I can tweak that Symbyan S50 platform to take better photos.

Also, no wonder the photos produced was smaller than my fingernail... it'd taken the pic at QCIF res! I think you should upgrade the line of products.

One more thing: Change your carrier in profile from Fido (not bootleg!) to SiftBank or NTT dacama or even Fidoo!

speaking of bootleg, look at this . Tell me what you think. Want to change your default homepage (is it Yahoo! ?) to the company there?

Posted by: pommm

where did you guys get your 9020c? how much did u get them for?

Posted by: aringpingpong

I know it's not possible to turn off the camera sounds, but I'm curious if anyone knows how to get into this phone's file settings. If that's possible, I might be able to get rid of these crappy camera sounds.

Posted by: IonNuke

I think the camera sounds are here to stay.

I guess in Japan they leave the sounds there so people can't use the phones to take random pictures of women or under their skirts. So if they tried people would hear that camera noise and it would be game over for the guy that's trying to do that. So I think the camera sounds are here to stay

Posted by: aringpingpong

I'm guessing that means you don't know how to get into the phone files. It's quite obvious that the camera sounds are left on and here to stay, but that's not really what I'm asking for.

Does anyone know how to get into the phone system files? Pretty much, does anyone know how to hack the phone so that I can view the sys files?

Posted by: zeonic

I heard that all chinese sharps are made in china, can anyone confirm this? im about to buy a 9020c and would want to know where it is made...

I think if anyone could hack the file system it would have been done several years ago. But the file system isn't paired up with the main software or firmware because I hack firmwares of Japanese phones just to see whats really inside and the file system is probably on some other part of the hardware that I can't see nor do I know what type of encryption algorithm is used.

So eventually I just gave up. I would be nice but to me it's not the end of the world if the camera noise is there.

Thanks for your in-depth response.
By hacking the firmware, you really are just changing one file though right? So if that's possible, there probably is some way to get to the other files. It's just too bad I don't know much about coding or any way to get into the phone.

I'm not sure if you've ever had an iPhone, but it is possible to get into the file system by "jailbreaking" the phone and using the Wifi feature on it to pair up with a computer. I am trying to see if there's anything similar to that. It's too bad this phone doesn't have Wifi on it.

But like you said, there probably is some kind of encryption on the phone that will try to keep you out. I bet there are people in Japan/China that have probably figured it out. Too bad I can't google it since I can't read/write the languages.

Posted by: stevetam

comparing an iPhone by jailbreaking isn't really fair to a keitai. You msut understand that keitai sercurity in all aspects is like iPhone security on steriods. Many hackers have gone through and given up. Hence the only way to have a somewhat functioning keitai is a hypersim. Going any further is too much oof a hassle, you might as while go to Sharp, Docomo, of Softbank to beg to get the phone unlcoked and hacked.

You do know this is a 9020c thread and not the 923...
I don't need a hypersim at all.

Posted by: zeonic

^ can you tell me where your 9020c is made?

Thanks

Posted by: stevetam

I know.. but I was refering to the whole keitai thing in general. For the China versions I think regardless of where is made it basically the same Softbank firmware, minus the no MP3 (If I'm correct). But the security stuff stays largely intact escept fo the unlocking and internet settings. Hacking those internal files are probably just like going into the Softbank. I wouldn't be surprised if the 9020C has the same secured files as the 923SH. It probably saves costs for Sharp to do less. The less secuirty revisions and stuff they have to do the better. (Blame engineers for this!)

Posted by: yangj08

Why mess around in software? Throw together a hardware kill-switch for the speaker.

We break down the firmware into HEX or Assembler. I'm not even sure how to look at the firmware with any other language. Plus I'm not good with any of those other complex languages

There's probably some other lock that allows you into the basic file system that has read-only files. But even if that is a possibility we have no idea what we're looking at

I've brought this up with the other programmers and they just kinda stared at me and shook their heads and walked away and I was like "what did I say???"

Haha that's too bad. I'm sure you guys could make an extra buck or two (probably a lot more) if you figured out how to replace the camera sound files and other system files.

Posted by: yangj08

If they could do that they would also have unlocked internet/MMS too. And we wouldn't have any need for HyperSIMs anymore.

It's not as easy as it seems because the cipher keys aren't the easiest things to look for. I remember when 923SH was a huge project we had first heard that the firmwares were using some sort of an AES Algorithm.... and I was like zomg this will be impossible. But have a team of 20+ people working at the same project doing it bit by bit.... it's not impossible. Well sorta, we just lose days of sleep and get near the point of pulling hair out of our heads but yeah

Posted by: yangj08

...? So even making a HyperSIM requires getting into the firmware?

Posted by: Otacon1

I want this themes!!!
http://www.custamo.com/pc/920/

You dont have another site for download themes compatible whit SH9020C?
Please..

Posted by: stevetam

It just comes down to people like Ionnuke who look at this stuff stare at it and say WTF? And then they work at it for a week or so and they give up because all they can come up with is a hypersim based off and older one. It hard business. I just wish solutions were as easy as bootlegging is. Imagine if all those Chinese people doing bootlegging stopped and non-stop analyzed the coding for these phones - we would have an fully unlocked keitai in under 24 hours!

Posted by: IonNuke

Quote:

Well the hypersim is partly molded off a UIM (docomo) or USIM (SoftBank) but the other part is to find the cipher keys that the firmware locks is looking for. And then it helps getting the cipher keys from the USIM as well because the USIM/UIM has a memory capacity of much larger than a regular SIM card. Regular SIM cards are like 32 or 64K. Japanese UIM/USIMs are 128K and I think in the past SoftBank had threatened to release their USIMs as 1MB chips. Regardless we're unable to make a 1:1 dupe of the IC chip so if you can chip away at the firmware of the phone, you can get a basic structure of what they are asking for without even attacking the USIM/UIM because the structure of that is just like an alien to us. We just don't quite get it yet.

But if you get a hypersim and you put it in your phone, and the personal information will show a Japanese number~~~ that's one of the reasons that's there. But for the most part if you attack the firmware you have more chances of probably finding extra goodies. After awhile when the first phone of a particular series is hacked. The rest of the phones in the same series is kinda the same so then hypersims are molded and mass produced.

And then some of us had bright ideas and make integrated hypersims where they support multiple phones from multiple manufactures from multiple series.

The only site I know that has themes for the 9020c is the sharp china website. They have like 5 or 6 themes. They aren't that great, but that's all I've found. I can't read Chinese so I don't know if there's anything else out there that other people have made.

And a minireview:
After using this phone for a week now, I find that the phone overall is pretty nice. However, there are quite a few things that I don't like. One being the bluetooth functionality. It's not that good. The alarm doesn't let you use songs bigger than I think 4MB and the T9 for english is very limited. My Nokia 6500 classic's functionality in the case of these 3 have absolutely no problem. If those things were fixed, this phone would be almost perfect for me.

Posted by: pchan0

Did a search but came up empty so I thought I would ask here. To those that have the 9020c, where did you buy it? I can not locate one online.

Thanks.

It's difficult to search in Chinese though. When I search in English then translate the Chinese pages, I just get a bunch of useless websites. I don't know if you know what I mean, but yeah...

Posted by: IonNuke

online translators only do so much. They're usually very inaccurate. I would type something in Chinese, translate it to English and then when I translate it back to Chinese it's something different than the original thing that I started out with.

That is weird! I just used it before to get japanese from an english site. it worked fine if you are doing a full website translate. I was showing my friend what Mixi was and she is just getting started on her Keitai since she is new to Japan. she is still learning japanese and she was able to translate and read Mixi just fine... atleast enough to know that she needed her phones email etc etc to set up an account and that she needed an invite to Mixi from me

Posted by: yukihiro

^ That's not the problem though. I think IonNuke was just giving an example as to why the translator isn't very good in some cases.

My problem is that I can't even find a website to look at. All the websites that come up in my searches are usually useless 1 sentence announcements for the phone or websites that are completely irrelevant. If I had a website that I knew would give me the right information, it would be easy to translate it and browse through the site. Know what I mean?

Because if you already knew Chinese, I'm sure it would be easier to browse through stuff in Chinese. Actually, it would be easier if you could search in Chinese to get Chinese results.

Yes, searching using local Google websites gets you more results from that local area than using Google.com.

Yeah most of my search pages are defaulted to .tw so whenever I search for items and topics I usually don't have to rummage through as much useless sites rather than using a global version of the search page.
