Razr V3XXR won't play mp3 files as ringtones

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a Razr V3XXR_J to replace my old V3xx. I made many mp3 ringtones and used them on the V3xx off my memory card. Using the very same card and files, the V3XXR_J will play them as music files, but won't set them as ringtones. I read that turning on SEEM 0032_0001, offset B2, bit 7 will allow setting ringtones from TF memory card. I made that mod, but it didn't work. I guess it does not work for this model.

Any help?

I just did the following mod to my V3xxR, not sure if it will work on the V3xxR_J. SEEM 004E_0001 offsets 920, 921, 922 and 923 all values set to FF. After the SEEM edit I had to move the MP3's chosen for ringtones from my memory card to the phone storage location and then back to the memory card. By doing this allowed the MP3 on the memory card to be applied as a ringtone. I did not do the 0032_0001 SEEM edit, I might try it later to see if it will eliminate the need to move the MP3's. Use this info at your own risk if you try this. Let me know if it works or not.

Thanks for your reply. I did this seem edit tonight, and it worked! I'm very happy to have control over my ring tones back.

The V3xxR_J seems pretty hard to work with. I tried all the tools mentioned here and on other forums, and the only one that I could use to load and copy seem files was P2KCommander 5.05. Version 5.08 did not work, nor did various versions of p2kedit and p2ktoolsVS and LeaderGL FlexEditor. I hope that someone out there is actively trying to master this phone!

Glad to hear that you got it working. Yes, the V3xxR and V3xxR_J are some tough nuts to crack. All the forums have been slow on these models but are starting to slowly pick up. Hopefully some of the masterminds can come up with some good mods for them soon.

ANYONE GOT THE EVENT LIGHTS/RINGLIGHT WORKING YET?I can get it in the menu "ringlights" but nothing to show as in solar or nocturn etc.

yea i too would like to use my mp3s as ringtones i just dont understand the abriviations you used...sry for bein a newb but could u help....btw mine is a v3xx
