JDTECK Repeater Really Works!

I love my P800 (yes love) but carry an old Motorola around my office because there is no Cingular signal in our building. Sprint has a site on the roof, so I carry the Motorola Sprint in the office, and call foward to my Cingular/P800 when I am not in the office. This is basically a pain and costly for the call forwarding.

JDTECK to the rescue. I just installed a JD65Repeater kit in my office. www.jdteck.com/product/phprepeater.htm A small antenna goes outside the building and a small self contained unit mounts inside the office area to be covered.

We now have great GSM coverage inside the office and I have a smile :-)

Thank you to Dennison at JDTECK for your help.

I’m glad to hear the good report regarding the JD Teck Repeater… I’ve been following this unit for some time now.
I to am about to purchase a repeater and have waited for almost a year before finalizing my decision. I knew about the JD Teck but held off because of reports that its coverage wasn’t that great (one HoFo member reported only a 600 sq ft area).
I really wanted something for the $500- $700 price range to cover more that that.
I’ve waited until now where Antenna Specialist have made available their new offering of a 1900mhz repeater. Its called the EAC-50…

http://www.antennaspecialists.com/r.../eac50_pcs.html

They are promising a much larger coverage than the JD Tech unit. Like all things though the proof will be in the using so I’ll have to get the unit and try it out. I live in a 3000 sq ft home and I’m really hoping to get good coverage through out the house (also I have 5 cell phone users in my home).

BTW It’s really sad that I live just about half way between 2 (T-Mobile) cell towers and my only hope is to buy a repeater in order to improve the signal. Such is the cost of good service hey.

? LRLR are you getting better coverage with your unit than the 600 sq ft ?

The office area is 7,000 Sq Ft. The repeater is in the center and most of it is covered. However, and this is a big consideration, most of this space is "creative space" and wide open. The private offices are glass front to the open space. Most of the area is line of site to the repeater. Where it does fall off is penetrating walls outside of the large creative space.

I remember back in the day when I worked at this particular bestbuy. Sprint PCS was just introduced and two towers were placed exactly 1/2 mile north and 1/2 south. The coverage mile overlapped in our store so we could never get the demo phone to work so the Sprint rep told us not to demo the phone but still sell the service. The explanation was that the two towers' signals were fighting over this given spot... We had a hay day with the Sprint rep too when she came in...we would sell At&t and PrimeCo (now Verizon) first and when people asked about Sprint we would tell them it was a fluke.

BTW, for all the people investing into signal repeaters...I seriously think the phone companies, be it T-Mobile/At&t gsm or Cingular gsm to reimburse people since they can't get the towers to throw out a signal right... but in your contracts it says they don't have to guarantee service. oh well...delimmna goes on.

Has anyone compared or seen a site online where they compare the JDTech JD65-XTPG repeater (http://www.jdteck.com/product/phprepeater.htm) with the Cell Antenna CAE50 PCS repeater (http://www.cellantenna.com/repeater/cae50.htm)?

I am really interested in buying one of these two systems but wanted to know the best choice before I fork out the cash.

Thanks,

Lije

Jesus Christ! Isn't there anything cheaper out there? I'd like to get one, but at these prices I certainly can't afford it right now.

I certainly don't need one becaue I get a somewhat-decent signal in my apartment, but it would help at times.

Well, there is this one http://www.jdteck.com/jd55-pr.htm that runs $365. But it's not quite at strong as the other 2 I listed. And I really need all the gain I can get.

Anyone with first hand experience with either of the DTech JD65-XTPG repeater (http://www.jdteck.com/product/phprepeater.htm) or the Cell Antenna CAE50 PCS repeater (http://www.cellantenna.com/repeater/cae50.htm) that would like to share your thoughts?

Thanks,

Lije

Here is a product a vendor of mine carries. He swears by it he has very good knowledge. You would need to speak to him. His name is Vince. Very smart guy and has been in the industry for several years. Just give him a call and happy shopping and getting better signal.

Later,
Matt

I have the CAE50 PCS repeater from www.cellantenna.com and it works well. Just remember, you need to have reception (at least 3 bars is what they recommend) where the antenna is located to get good reception from the repeater.

I'll probably be selling mine soon because I recently moved and have no problems with reception in my house.
