I am not sure if this question belongs here or over in the T-Mo forum, but here is my dilemma.

I have an S55. My GPRS works flawlessly, as does MMS. However, I cannot send out an SMS. I can receive them, as I have gone to the T-Mo website and sent myself a bunch, but I cannot send any out. I keep getting a "message not sent" error. I have no idea where to look or what could be wrong. Everything else on the phone is 100% operational.

It it helps at all, I just bought this phone, and it is currently running an older firmware (05). I will be upgrading to the latest (12?) but have not done so as of yet. Could the two be related?

Any input would be appreciated.

I think it's more of a T Mobile issue. My friends on T Mobile had a similiar problem 2 weeks ago. They could recieve an sms but couldn't send one. Is this just today you're having that issue or has it been going on for a while now?

did you have your network activate your SMS? if you did then i suggest you harass them. i have a friend who is in a situation like yours and she did not activate her SMS feature. she can receive but cannot send.

It's only been since I put my Sim card into my new Siemens S55. Prior, I have had it in many GSM phones, on the same T-Mo account, and never had any problems. There are really only 2 possible causes that I can see.... either my new Siemens doesn't like the EONS SIM for some reason, or it's a T-Mo network problem that has nothing to do with me or my phone. It's only been a day, so I may play with it some more today and see if I can resolve it.
