I have the Tracfone W376g, therefore the PC charging/Data transfer/Bluetooth transfer ports are disabled. I went to the Moto~ site and got the driver for the PC charger (x86); and installed it- it works fine*!
I also got the x86 driver for data transfer, but it doesn't work. My computer makes the noise when a USB device has been installed, however the phone does not show up as a data volume. It does however show up in hardware manager under "Hardware > Device Manager > Ports (Comm & LPT) > Motorola USB Comm Port 3".
Can anyone help me as to where I went wrong?
*note that for the charger driver to work, I had to insert:
%TexasInst.DeviceDesc0% = Serusb, USB\VID_22B8&PID_4061
%TexasInst.DeviceDesc0% = Serusb, USB\VID_22B8&PID_4061&Rev_0001
in the device driver file after [TexasInst.Mfg]. Repeating, it does work.
While only using for the first day, I DO think the phone charges quicker and "deeper" than the wall adapter. (I also suffer the dreaded "crap battery" issue which I plan on fixing with a newer larger-capacity battery).
The machine is Windows XP Pro Non-Pirate Edition.
Would inserting those same lines in the .msi installer rectifiy the issue? I do have a hex editor....
now i'm trying to "modify" my LG600g...havent seen anything yet, has anyone else?

I also have a w376g tracfone which i'm tryin to hack. I'm able to connect it via USB to my computer and it does charge, but it won't read it as a modem. I've seen on quite a few sites that an "unknown device" category or somethin like that pops up when you connect the phone, but I don't get that either. My computer is a P.O.S. inspiron 1300 with Windows XP Home Edition, so i was wondering if anyone might know if it's the phone, the computer, or if PEBCAC.

Can anyone tell me how they got the w376g to sync with pc. Can't seem to get it to connect. I've installed the drivers but still no luck. Any Ideas anyone?
