Tmobile Nokia 5610 RM-359 Question

Like many others on this forum I've been searching around for ways to debrand my Tmobile Nokia 5610 XM (RM-359) . However, I'm beginning to wonder if there's even a point to getting the "product code". I'm wondering this because the firmware that Nokia releases is unique to the RM version. So even if I do get my hands on the product code for the RM-359 in the future, once it's hooked up to the Nokia Software Updater, it won't be flashing it anyways because Nokia hasn't been releasing any firmwares for it . Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, is there a way to flash the phone with the same firmware version (5.92) just w/o the Tmobile junk?

Thanks

Stealth: I'm in the same boat and predicament as you are. I bought that phone with all the T-Mobile branded junks on it. I start to wonder if it's worth the while to hunt for a RM359 product code to debrand it ? Or I would donate it to the museum and buy another model....

T-Mobile now has a newer version of the firmware version 8.23. It is still laden with T-Mobile stuff. Take a look at the 6301 debranding thread. I think you'll see that you might want to hunt down a product code for one of the many other versions of the 5610. T-Mobile is running the 5610d-2b RM-359. I've seen references to at least three other RM-types for the 5610. This is important for reasons you'll see when you read the 6301 debranding thread. Good luck!
