how to unlock..

hey people,i am trying my hardest to learn to unlock phones my self.i want to start a business doing it but as you can imagine nobody wants to help. if anybody could link me to a place that helps me...do this and learn how to unlock all types of phones thanks

i want to start this local no website..nobody around here knows what a unlocked phone is

If no one knows about unlocking then why would they pay money for it?

Anyways, I suppose since they are a hofo advertiser, I could recommend this site. That's a list of unlocking hardware they sell.

As far as remote unlock codes, I think people just have access to software that generates those codes. I'll bet if you look hard enough you could find somewhere to buy that stuff, though do expect that it's gonna be pricey.

Some software and codes exist for free, I know GSMliberty provides Nokia unlock codes for free, and of course for iPhones you can get quickpwn or whatever.

yea..well i am trying to spread the word around town aboout what unlocks are. i am just trying to learn how to do it myself instead of hiring somebody to do it.but i am just having a hard time finding material to teach me how to unlock phones.

It depends on the jurisdiction... in Canada, it is currently legal.

In the US, there was a US carrier that sued various other companies that unlocked their cellphones. I don't remember which company though. The way I understood the lawsuit was that the carrier had no problems with unlocking their cellphones for their customers but they had an issue with other companies purchasing their cellphones, unlocking them, and charging a premium on the unlocked phone.

If I find the link (and the US carrer) in question, I'll post it.
