please help caller id issue not showing up 3 carriers 10 phones!

ok this is a little long so ill try to make it simple

problem: i do not receive caller id from my work but i do from everyone else.

i have the caller programed in to my phone book

other people get the caller id fine

i have had many different phones from 3 different providers in order of timeline:

tmobile vzw and now att

the first time i noticed this i had vzw and had a lg flip phone this was 2006 i called and placed a trouble ticket witch they closed and never notified me

5 motorola razors all did it

3 blackberry curves

i tried calling my IT dept and asking them about it they tell me its a cellular issue not anything to do with their network

so i call back to vzw they tell me they have no history of this problem from me and ask what is the problem go through the normal battery pull mumbo jumbo

no fix this goes on for about 3 months they send me a new phone not fixed

i talk to 3-4 different network experts they all have no idea and after they exhaust their options they quit to call me back or return calls or emails when this happens

i call back again they say they have no record of me having this problem

so i get fed up call again and ask to cancel my service and go to att at a 175$

then 3 days later on my new att blackberry 8310 i get a midnight call from work about an emergency NO CALLER ID again

what is wrong here ?

i have called tmobile they said everything was transfered correctly
vzw say it is a landline problem
work says its cellular
att says it is out of their hands they use a different kind of network so its impossible

i dont want to change my number but i think its my only option at this point

it was a tmobile number in 2004 then i took it to vzw then i take it to att and get the same thing at all carriers

please help im so frustrated

How does the caller id show from work? Does it just say unknown, or is there no name or number or what? We need more details.

yes the caller id comes through

"unknown number"

everyone else i work with company phones and personal (about 300 guys) gets this

what else do you want to know i knew there would be a ton of questions so i left it simple at first, i figured 3 long paragraphs and no one will read it

this is my personal phone and account btw

Could be the way your work has it set up. Until recently, the hospital I work for showed up the same way. It wasn't until recently after they switched the phones around, that the caller id shows the right way. I am not sure that there is anything you can do about it.

It is only on my phone though all others receive the caller Id fine

I'm about to switch phone numbers and just be done

Seems like no one has any idea

Tmobile
Att
Or my work
They all just pass the buck

What kinds of phones do your co-workers have?

they mostly have the lg that vzw gives out free or at a very low cost with an account

a few personal phones are better like the samsungs or a razor

i dont believe it is a cell phone issue because i get the caller id from their cells but not the desk phones

So you are the only one with a BlackBerry? That is interesting. Anyone else that you work with have one possibly? I am just trying to eliminate any possibility that it is your phone.

yes but this problem has existed with other phones not just my bb

they have asked me to shut off my phone and then they activated a new phone in the office with my number then had me call it from one of the numbers that do not show the caller id and had the same problem

actually i have another thread about stumping vzw goes into a little more details but either way id like to solve this so i am not denying your suggestions

i had an:
lg flip
about 5 razors
a samsung alias
and now this is my 3rd curve with vzw

and now with ATT the curve from them does it too

all phones did the caller id thing

and oh yea i had the numbers stored in my phonebook and they worked on an outgoing call
but when i had the lg activated on my account with another number as a second line it worked fine

People calling from some centrex systems and out of town will be blocked no matter what carrier you are using.

well i looked at the centrex wiki and these pones that i get no caller id dont look like those ones we have at work
