MMS settings for S55 on AT&T?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey all, I'm having trouble with MMS. I can connect to the internet with the wap browser just fine, and I can send/receive MMode email too. WHen I try to send MMS messages, I get "Service denied!" errors.

Does anyone know what this all means or what I'm doing wrong? The settings I'm using are all off of AT&T's support forums website. They are: (email settings below too)

Under Data Services (Menu 9-6-5):
MMS, WAP:
Profile Name: AT&T MMS & WAP
CSD Settings: all blank/default
GPRS Settings (checked):
APN: Proxy
Login Name and Password: both blank

Mail, Java, Rms:
Profile Name: AT&T Mail Java
Same settings as MMS,WAP
DNS settings: blank/zeroes

Under Message Setup (Menu 5-10)
MMS:
Profile Name: AT&T MMS
Expiry Time: Maximum
Def. Priority: Normal
Def. Duration: 5 sec
Retrieval: Auto.homenet
MMS Relaysrv: http://mmsc.mobile.attwireless.net
IP Settings:
Address: 10.250.250.100
Port: 9203
2nd Address: 0.0.0.0
2nd Port: 9201
Conn. Profile: AT&T MMS & WAP

Email:
Accounts:
Account Name: att
User Settings:
Provider: AT&T Mail Java
User Name: Dave
Email addr: gfunkdave@mobile.att.net
User ID: gfunkdave
Password: **********
Mail Settings:
Leave Copy on Server: No
Types: IMAP4
POP3 Server: none (it wouldn't let me leave this blank)
POP3 Port: 110
IMAP4 Server: imap.attwireless.net
IMAP4 Port: 143
SMTP Server: smtp.attwireless.net
SMTP Port: 25
SMTP Authentic: Yes
SMTP Password: same as my MMode password

Can anyone shed some light on this? I don't think I'll ever really use MMS but it's nice to have the option.

Thanks!

I too am having the same exact problem with AT&T on my S55...If people replied directly to gfunkdave (or if you've figured it out since your posting, gfunkdave), could someone post the solution? or email me? I can't for the life of me figure out the problem...

Thanks!

I just figured this out on my new S56. Maybe this will help...
Go to Messages > Msg. Setup > SMS.
Select SMS from list and choose Options.
Then choose Change Sett.
Then Service Center.
There should be a phone number displayed. Mine, for some reason, was too long. I trimmed off the extra digits to make it a standard 10 digit phone number with +1 in the beginning like this: +19078319301.
Now I can send SMS/MMS'es just fine. So far am loving this phone! It's my first Siemens and I'm quite impressed.
God luck.

the service centre number was already set to how you posted, aaanorton...My SMS's are working fine...just the MMS that's not working :-(

Any other suggestions?

Well, if you want to compare MMS setup settings I'd be happy to. Go through all the prefs and look for blank fields and I'll tell you what I have there.

I copied the settings that gfunkdave listed in this thread...are yours the same as those?

Still a no go :-( Thanks anyway!

Call ATT (I know, I know... yuk) and see if there is something wrong with your acct setup on their side. I did that earlier and they double checked everything for me.

Yeah...I've tried talking to them..and they always whine about how my phone is not a supported phone (since I have the s55, and not the "US" version of the phone)...In fact, they didn't even seem to know about the S56 when I called 'em...I'll try callin' em again...

Thanks again!!

Well, I just talked to them and they did have info on the S56 (which is what I have). I'd just tell them that is what you have and see if it works out. Can't hurt...
Good luck.

Dear S55'rs:

I just purchased a cool S55, but am having difficulty getting access to the web. I copied the settings (from prior message on MMS here), and get a GPRS icon at the lower left side and a SENDING on the lower right side of the screen.

But, each time I try to go to a bookmark or self entered URL, I get errors, either HTTP 404 Not Found or HTTP 403 Forbidden.

Has anyone recently done this and would be able to help me get this thing configured properly. Eventually, I want to use it with my Ipaq 5455 to access the web as I did with my old T68i.

Thanks,

Steve
