Hey guys, anyone have got latest update with AT&T picking up the C905a? I've been waiting for this phone for a while now, but it's still a no show...and I don't want to be waiting around forever like I did with the k850. So do you guys think I should wait, or pull the trigger on something else?

I'm between the T700/c702/k800. I know the k800 is a little old, but you can get some good buys on it right now. Or for something a little newer, there's the T700 or the c702. I currently have a w810i, so keep that in mind that's what I'm used to.

My w810i has been dying slowly but surely over all this time, and I have reached my last straw when my vibrator stopped working yesterday. I need a new phone ASAP, and would prefer the c905 but if not will have to go for T700/c702/k800

Any info will be great! Thanks!

IMHO the c905 is an over-rated POS from SE. All it is, is a C902 with a 8MP Half decent camera.. go for the c902 instead.

Why would I go for the c902 instead of the T700 or c702 though? I like the c702 because of the GPS, and the c902 is a little out of my price range. And I have a friend who said he looked at the c902, and was a little let down. So I'd be interested in your argument for the c902 over the T700 or c702

how much is the C902 selling in your area? in mine, its selling the same as the T700. the T700 isnt that great of a phone, the speakers sound like a 'tin can' quality .. the c902 vs c702 is a tossup, the C902 offers WiFi and a 5MP camera, whereas the C702 has GPS and a 3.2mp camera, so its all up to you. i personally like the design and build quality on the 902 than the c702, but the c702 has a slighly bigger screen... again its all preference, i like the c902 better.

Well I'm from the States, where everyone just buys their dumbed down crappy "free" phones from the carriers. So nothing decent is selling in my area. Price is big for me, money is a little tighter with the way the economy is going, and every dollar counts. I can get the T700 for $200, c702 for $210, or c902 for $285. So the c902 is a little out of my price range, but I'd definitely consider something higher if it's right for me (like the c905a appears to be).

I don't like the small screen for the c902, I like the biggest screen possible. That, and I think the megapixel difference between the c702 and c902 would be negligible at best. The GPS definitely attracts me, never had a phone with GPS before, but if I were to get the c702 would I need to purchase an aGPS package from AT&T or will my 1MB data package be enough? I am scared about the "tin can" sound you speak of with the T700 though

But that's why I'm posting here, to get input from people like you! Cuz I can't go to the store and pick something out - I have to order something online, and whatever I get I'm stuck with.

Well, you're now using W810i, a simple no-nonsense Walkman candy bar. In my opinion, either T700 or C702 are viable options for you. They are all no-nonsense phone. Well, T700 speaker may be tin-canny for music. But you can always plug in your headset, can't you? Or if you're really into listening to music via speakerphone, then go for C702, as for the GPS of C702, is actually this is up to you, if tight in budget, then don't subscribe to GPS service from AT&T, because the real value of C702 is it is splash resistant, dust and shock resistant! So you can do outdoor activities with more peace of mind with C702. Plus C702 is cybershot, so it has better camera processing technology...

C902 is not recommended, in my opinion, it is a clumsy phone with awkward controls. If you want high end, then C905 it is, but it is slider phone, so you will need some adjustment from current W810i.

Thanks for the post ismawan, it was very organized and to the point!

I never really liked the w810i that much, and to be honest I got it while out of town and my phone broke at the time. So I had to run to the Cingular store and that was the best option at the time. I've hated it the entire time, and I get horrible reception

Anyway, I don't want a no-nonsense phone - I want something highend, and fancy, and something that can last me a while. That was one thing I was confused about, so in order for me to use the GPS functionality of the c702 I would have to subscribe to GPS service for AT&T ON TOP of Data? If so, then I wouldn't get it and thus would eliminate the big advantage for the GPS for me.

I wouldn't use the T700 speaker for music, only for the occasional phone call. If it's okay for phone calls, then it's okay for me! I don't even use ringtones, vibrate only, so music is no problem...and I'm not worried about a slider, I used to have the s710a which was a slider-like type phone. Like I said I want something high-tech and geeky! And definitely would be interested in taking other suggestions

Another part of the puzzle, is that I wouldn't want a c905i - and would only get a c905a, therefore I can't currently get one. So not only am I wondering if I should wait for the c905a, but there's also good rumors going around about AT&T picking it up therefore I could get it for a nice subsidized price. I don't want to be waiting around forever like I did with the k850. So do you guys think I should wait, or pull the trigger on something else?
