the midi rigers for my sanyo 5000 sound good when they are on my computer. But when i transfer them to my phone they sound very low. I turn the ringer volume way up but they still sound very low. Is there anyway i can make the midi's louder before i transfer them to my phone so when i do use the ringers they are able to be heard? please give me some incite if possible. Or if anyone knows where i can get midi's that are very loud for the phone

For the most part it is probably impossible to increase the volume significantly. This is because the speaker is probably unable to produce certain sound frequencies at higher volumes.

Your midi files probably don't have the volumes turned up. There are two things that you can do to increase the volume, both require you to use a MIDI sequencer like CakeWalk or Cubase.
1. Open the file, and set the volume for all the tracks to 127, which is the max.
2. The other thing that you can do is to make sure that the key velocities for the notes are more than 100. This will make them loud.
Most of the newer MIDI files have a lot of expression built into them, and the SCP-5000 tries to show them as well as possible.
If you don't have access to a sequencer, I'll be happy to change one or to of them for you, so that they are louder, just send me the files.

Thanx SAM! all the sequencers i see you have to pay for them or you can't save the file until you pay for registration. Do you know of where there are sequencers where i would not have to do this?

Unfortunately I don't. Most sound cards come with a free one, so that's your best bet. Otherwise I recommend searching places like download.com or simillar places.

I downloaded the free version of AnvilStudio - I wanted to take the 'best part' of some songs to be my ringer. I have some Dave Matthews, Simpsons and such edited for size and volume. I have about 10 custom ringers downloaded. While it will let you download some pretty long MIDI files - do you really need the whole song? I just cut out the 'hook' and save it (much smaller) Just my opinion. I'm not an expert on MIDI, but Anvil was pretty easy to figure out. I also got rid of some instruments and tracks to clean up the songs. DMB 'Typical Situation' and Simpsons Theme sound great - I'm still looking for a source for other quality MIDI files (not 'single instrument' ring tones)

Under the file menu, use TRUNCATE. Use 'Delete from current position to end' and 'Delete from start to current position' to edit. I changed several 100kb files to files smaller than 5kb. Enjoy.
