Aside from the 8100, is a successor to the 5300 planned? Id like any info on it and its release date and possible carriers. I assume one wont be released till xmas time, but I just want to make sure.

Also, does Sanyo have a contract with Sprint or can they make phones for verizon also?

since i have never seen a sanyo for verizon, i think it is safe to assume that sanyo and sprint have some sort of contract

if sanyo had a 5000 series phone for VZW....oh man...i would be ALL over it!!!

sanyo is a sole supplier for sprint, they have some contract

Sanyo really releases new phones only when Qualcomm releases a new chipset. When 3G audio came out, the 4700 & 5150 were released. When Qualcomm when to 3G data, the Sanyo 4900 & 5300 were released.

Expect a new Sanyo 5xxx phone around the end of the year or early next year. Qualcomm is preping a new chipset with integrated Bluetooth, and you can bet that Sanyo will want it to counter the SonyEricsson T608.
