SL55 Scam on Ebay....

Watch out for the ebay user with the email address:
office@loinfer.com
Don't buy anything from them - liars. I caught him in a lie when I asked for the SL55 in green and they told me they had it.

Just a thought.
Do you think it was possible the Email was answered by some "secretary" who didn't know, and was just told they had "all the colors". In this case, if you Emailed and asked for green, that would be included in the "all the colors" info they were given.
What is their Feedback?
Was there more evidence that they were scamming anyone?
Just my $0.02 worth.

Well - they were 'selling' the phone for $200 - hence the saying 'if it sounds too good to be true - it probably is.'
I just went back to ebay to look and see the feedback - and guess what - the listing has been pulled.

Some of these Ebay scammers fake their feedback... the majority of the time if something is too good ot be true it probably is.
I have said this before in this forum and I'll say it again-- in the end it comes to buyer awareness.

Well, as I stated in my first reply. It was just a thought.
I don't know, I guess I just wanted you to post some other info.
And selling a $500+ phone for $200 is quite the giveaway.
Just as long as y'all don't think I was defending them.

You can get some great phones on ebay if you following a few rules:
1. Don't buy from anyone only accepting cash, western union, or checks. you have no recourse. Even with paypal now you can buy insurance, it ain't cheap, but it would be worth it in certain situations.
2. Don't buy from anyone who doesn't have at least 20 positive feedback, and at least a 90% positive feedback ratio. Look at their feedback as well. Some people fake feedback as Sync said by buying or selling low-dollar items, then suddenly they're selling $500 phones. ONLY BUY FROM SOMEONE WITH POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON PHONE SALES.
3. Send an email and ask some questions, follow your gut here. If you don't get a good feeling from their answers, don't buy from them.
4. Generally stay away from people selling from Singapore, Spain, Romania, and Hong Kong (although I've taken the risk with HK before and it was fine). There are a lot of scammers from those areas. It's also hard to track or receive tracking on a package from those areas.
5. The old saying goes "there's no free lunch". If it looks too good to be true it probably is. If you think you're going to get a phone for 1/2 the going internet price, you're not. You'll just get scammed. You can usually save from $50 to $100 on the phone buying from ebay vs. buying on the net sim free. Beware of anyone selling well below the price of other ebayers. It's usually scammers.

I just wanted to add to jehlinger's list...
never buy from a seller that tells you that he/she is in one country so send the money there but the mobile will be sent from another country to the buyer.
