Is there some app or hack that show the battery in % instead of the default for Nokia E71?

tjena tjena...lol (I just spent 6 months in Stockholm)
I bought an E71 a couple days ago and am wondering the same thing. Been searching for a while now and can't find any apps on the net. It would be nice to be able to view a percentage of the battery life remaining rather than just guessing at those tiny bars in the corner.
I'll keep you posted if I come across anything useful. Hej da

hej hej min svenska kompis,
ok I've found one program which will display the battery life as a percentage. It's called "Jbak Taskman" which is a skit bra task manager type program I highly recommend even if it didn’t have the ability to display the battery life. You should be able to find it online for download, if not let me know and I can email it to you. Once you install Jbak you have to open the Menu then scroll to Tools, then click System Info. It will display your EMEI number, phone name, etc. etc. and the battery life %. So this is a good start I think, still not a dedicated battery life app by any means, but it’s a solid app and until I find something better (which is starting to seem unlikely) it will have to suffice.
Btw, so far I’m loving the E71 and am a little shocked that a Swede like yourself has two of these Finish made gems, everyone I met would only use Sony Ericsson!! lol Also, how’s Telia been? When I come back to Sverige I think I’ll sign up with them, even though Comviq Kompis is literally a quarter of what I pay here in Canada.

Ledsen att jag inte svarat tidigare,
Well Telia is not a good operator at all. My recommendation is 3 (Three) since I find them to have the best coverage and best prices. Personally, I do not like Sony Ericsson and actually I think Nokia is the most common phone in sweden.

nej det lungt!
Tack sa mycket for din antydan, their prices were definitely cheaper than Telia so I'll check them out when I return for sure. The only advantage I thought Telia had was you could travel between Sweden, Norway, and Finland (I think it was) and wouldn't incure expensive roaming charges...at least according to the sales clerk, good chance she was lying though
Another thing about the battery %, I realized that JBak Taskman app does display the battery in %, but only in increments of 14%. So basically it's just counting the bars and displaying it in a percentage instead of a bar lol. I still have yet to find a program that works properly. There's also an app called pyBattery which might work but it's written in Russian, and another called EnergyPatrol. But I can't install unsigned apps on my phone since I updated the firmware to unbrand it, so I can't say whether they work well or not, forlat
(honestly about 80% of the Swedish people I met foolishly used Sony Ericsson, but maybe it was just a Stockholm thing
lol)

It's mostly the younger generation and basically teens who uses Sony Ericsson here.
I don't know much about the roaming capabilites from the different operators, but I'm sure you will sort that out. Gonna check out those apps you mentioned.
