Another V750 ringtone thread

I just received my V750, and I've spent quite a bit of time here reading. I was able to seem edit the dreaded PTT button, and everything went fine. Now I'm trying to get some MP3 ringtones loaded onto the phone. I've tried P2K commander, and P2K05, but they don't seem to find the phone? I've installed all of the drivers, but I can't pull up anything in the program to show me the phone files? I have no idea what firmware/revision my phone has, if somebody wants to point me in the right direction, I can post it. I read through Mark Ventures posts, but still no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched and read all of the threads, but still can't get it figured out.

You need to have Motorola Software Update (aka MSU) running in the background for P2Kcommander to work. If you have read a lot, you probably know that, but I needed to ask as you didn't mention it. Firmware shouldn't make a difference for putting ringtones on the V750. Once MSU recognizes your phone, start P2kCommander and you should be good to go.

Actually, now that I think about it, P2K05 seem (which you have already used if I'm not mistaken) can suspend the phone and you should then be able to use P2KCommander, taking away the need for MSU.

OK, I'll try again. I'm getting the message on the bottom of the P2K screen that there is no modem detected, but the modem shows under device manager.

Bob,
What should my options in P2K be set to? I'm getting some different error messages when I change the USB settings in P2K options. At one point it showed me that it found 715 files, but I couldn't access any of them. Any help is appreciated. Also, I am running MSU in the background.

Here's a how-to, complete with screenshots. It was written for a V9m but it is reported to be exactly the same for a V750.

Bob the tomato,

Thanks a lot for the links. I was able to get the ringtones on using MSU and P2K commander. I appreciate it.
