I'm Thrilled with my S55

I recently purchased an s55, and I am extremely happy with it. Most of all, though, I am excited because last night I was able to send and receive e-mail from my Palm T|T via a bluetooth connection to my phone. I do not think that it gets any cooler than this, and I just wanted to share.

I too have a S55 and am unable to use it as a GPRS modem.

I can WAP no problem but it will not work as a modem - I use a pocket PC.

Would you mind sharing your settings with me - I see you are in NY and I am in Toronto but maybe I am missing something (or my provider (Fido) has something odd about their gateway etc.

BTW I also have a Nokia 6310i and it works flawlessly as a modem - the set up is different (Nokia have a setting called GPRS modem access point which Siemens does not).

I agree the phone is amazing and I want to use it as a modem.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

You can try the WebToGo service to see if you can get connected at http://www.webtogo.de/uk/page.asp?p=259 . It is a pay service that you can try for free on Palm and Pocket PC's. I have no affiliation with this company, but after struggling for days to get my Sony TG-50 PDA to connect with my S55 on T-Mobile USA the WebToGo Service got me up in running in 5 minutes. It worked for me so I felt it was worthwhile to purchase their Pro level service.

Congrats on the new fone. I think the S55 and TT is a great combo for anyone to have.

I too was having the hardest time getting the two devices to play nicely with one another. However, I downloaded the Phone Link updater to my Palm, and after that everything was a breeze. The only problem came with setting my mail settings on SnapperMail, which is a terrific program in its own right.

I am sorry to say that I did not solve anything by myself. However, the Phone Link program pretty much did everything that I could not.

I hope that this helps, and let me know if I can provide any more advice.
