Thoughts on 2005 Audi A4

I think I might have found a replacement car for my Focus. 2005 Audi A4, 2.0 T, AWD, 47,5xxk miles on it, fully loaded. The price is pretty good also, and I will have money for a nice chunk of down payment.

Any thoughts on this car? I know Audi makes good cars, but how is the reliability? Are there any known issues with it? I know that there are a lot of Audi owners here, so looking for feedback on this car.

Thanks!!

Here's a bunch of a4 reviews http://www.edmunds.com/audi/a4/2005/review.html

Thanks. Those are for the 3.1L and the 1.8, nothing on the 2.0 I appreciate the link though.

Yeah I just noticed that no one has reviewed the 2.0T. Look at the 2006 then, http://www.edmunds.com/audi/a4/2006/consumerreview.html. The car you are looking at is technically a 2005.5 B7 chassis (2005-2008) because it has the 2.0T. The 2.0T was not available in the 2001-2005 b6 chassis. Hope this helps.

It helps because I want to talk about this car, and you are the only one talking to me.

Dude that is a great step up. I love VW's because they are such safe cars. With that being said I once asked German Auto Technician how do you like Audi's? he said "I love them, They pay the rent!" Look into getting a warranty for that thing because you do not want to pay for costly repairs down the road. Older German luxury cars can turn in to money bit real fast.

I drove a 2007 2.0T but it was not AWD. It felt a bit underpowered compared to a 330I or a C300 but you won't notice it since your coming from a focus. If you do drive it real hard you'll smell nothing but clutch. The steering is very light and easy to turn. I like a bit tighter feel like a BMW but in the long run you won't care driving it every day in city traffic. A Benz also has light steering also but I feels tighter than the Audi. On long trips people in the back seat will get uncomfortable fast, dunno why but you won't care about that since you'll have the best seat in the house. The front seats are good, they will not wear you out.

I'm no Audi expert but get a carfax, have the axles checked, and find out about the clutch. If you do replace it I say get an upgraded one if your going to push the car hard. Find out if the owner has paper work on all the services that have been done to the car.

Go to Fourtitude . They have a lot information. Good luck and post pics when you get it.

love those cars. a friend of mine had one and it was so much fun. i would consider getting the warranty though if you do get it.

I bought it. The test drive pretty much sold me on it. Came with a 2 year/50k mile warranty from the date of my purchase. Audi certified pre-owned, carfax, etc. It's all good.

Pics to come this weekend.

Thank you. I will be sure to get them up either tomorrow if the sun is out, or the weekend for sure. So far, I love it. Very nice ride, which I was looking for. Very well equipped, again, just what I wanted.
