Hello,

I just renewed a contract with a new phone. However, I won't be needing new phone because I am okay with using my current phone. If I wanted to sell new phone, do I have to call Verizon to clear ESN?

Just make sure you activated the new phone on your line, then switch back to your old phone and the new phone should be in the clear and ready for sale.

Correction on that......I called VZW after my NE2 to sell on ebay an extra phone and the rep told me that I didn't have to activate the phone at all, that I just had to accept the new terms of the contract. Didn't even have to take the phone out of the box although I did. Easy enough!
