Hey guys Stupid question here. Does anyone know if the Q9H has the letter "H" that appears on the screen when on 3G? Mine always shows 3G only, while people I know (with other att phones) Show an "H" Not a big deal, I was just wondering......

I do not think it does. Mine just always show 3G. However, about 6 months ago or so my Treo 750 started showing the H.

Mine only shows 3G as well.

I think the H icon is disabled on most WM ATT phones.

More importantly, how did you get Wi-Fi? Even with a different ROM I don't think the hardware is there...

The "H" does not stand for Wi-Fi. It stands for "HSDPA" or High-Speed Downlink Packet Access.

I have Motorola test phone (according to the IMEI) that has AT&T branding, although the bezel is shiny chrome instead of matte. I picked it up about a month ago from a guy who bought it off craigslist in canada only a couple of weeks before that. It came with a custom build of WM6.1 that has all the fixes/updates in the firmware that was released for the Q9h over the weekend. Best guess is that it was, until recently, owned by a Motorola engineer.

the WiFi works like a charm...really too bad that AT&T never let them include it in the production version. This phone meets all my needs - great RF, fantastic keyboard, speakerphone and ringer that can wake the dead, WiFi and 3G connectivity, aGPS...it's sad that Motorola Q development has ended. Although I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Q9n (gov't only VZW phone with WiFi, CDMA, and GSM).

Disregaard. I see the Wi-Fi in the profile.
